Dealer said my pre order would go thru March 1st. Going with a Dark grey Limited. He gave me some literature so I figured I would post it here. I'm excited!

Good color choice, I thought about placing an order with my local dealership as well, but I really want to drive it first. I just want to make sure that if I give up the AWD and turbo that I could get with an STI, that's its going to really be what I love. I also want to see what they are going to charge for the limited trim. If it's $30K, I'm not sure that I would go with it over an STI for only $100 more a month. I like having the option of being able to upgrade the turbo very easily for 400+ WHP.

I can get my deposit back if its over $27,000 when its announced. I have an sti now and I kinda think I'm going to like the better fuel mileage. Also from what everybody has said this car is going to be a ton of fun to drive in that's 1 thing I'm really looking forward to. The only thing that really concerns me is the size of the vehicle so I will have to wait and see how well I fit since I'm a big guy at 6'2".

I think im gonna go with the rear diffuser and chrome fender accent. Not a big fan of the fake carbon gas door cover. Anyone heard of exhausts for this car yet?

Yeah, Considering it would be my first subie, if i like it better than a 2012/13 Miata, I would probably get it in either WRB or LR. But the Galaxy Blue is tempting as well.

I have an order in as well. 1st in line at my local dealership. I want the Rally Blue Premium version.. but if the prices are a little less then the $25k/27k that I'm expecting, I might upgrade to the Limited.

I also have a clause on price so that if it comes in much higher than expected I can get my deposit back.

There is a video of the Scion FR-S that Greddy has been working on since they announced the vehicle. It's on Youtube. Greddy is using it to develop an exhaust, they've put on a new big brake kit, Volk G12 wheels, and are working on a turbo kit.

Wow - that's crazy. No way in hell I will pay over the MSRP! I might even have difficulties rationalizing paying the sticker price.

My dealer told me a few days ago when I put in my deposit that his dealership is getting 10 this year, and the other in town will get 3-4. Apparently they are really shooting for the 3000 number.

I put a deposit down on a swp premium. The sales guy said there are probably 5 guys ahead of me right now. I told him I was not really willing to pay over MSRP but I'll find out on the 1st when I talk to him. I know he is a sales guy but he anticipates the entire allocation will be sold out pretty quick. He said their allocation will be gone with day 1 orders.

A couple dealers around me are asking MSRP and one is going for $800 over invoice.

The dealers around here are expecting between 6 and 9 for the year.

I guess you were right. One of the dealers just called me saying that apparently everyone gonna be charging 5K over the sticker and they will only add 2500... I basically told him not interested.

The two dealers I've spoken to here are charging MSRP for the car. They both expect their allocations to be sold out within a couple weeks. There are so many people interested in the car if you want to see one in the showroom or test drive it before ordering it, you'll likely be getting one sometime in 2013.

I work at a Toyota/Scion Dealership and I've heard that since Subaru was building the vehicles that they were able to launch their models first. In addition, they are only going to be able to produce so many, like others have said, 3,000 and the rest that will be produced will be Scion. I was told by a Scion Rep that Scion will be selling 3 times as many so I'm guessing at least 9,000.

I understand why they wouldn't discount the vehicle since it's going to be a limited production vehicle for Subaru, but to charge above MSRP is just dumb. Subaru/Scion/Toyota are all the same vehicle! If you are that much of a Subaru nut muncher that you would pay $5,000 more for nearly the same vehicle, you have a lot of money to waste. Personally I'd buy a Scion and take the extra $5,000 I would save and buy wheels, tires, suspension, exhaust, audio system, turbo kit, etc... If people were smart they would tell Subaru "NO" and then watch the price drop. HAHA!!!

I was 3rd in line at Carter Subaru, and they were basically saying MSRP, no budging. They are getting 20.

I talked to Walker Subaru yesterday and they said if I signed an order agreement (with 0 deposit) that I would be first in line, and we negiotiated to 400 under MSRP. They are getting 16.

So yeah, cars are being sold under MSRP. some dealers will do it, others wont. Walkers was joking around about charging way over MSRP as soon as they started getting some on the lot.

This is good to hear. At least some places are being reasonable. My guess is that they will try to charge over and most people will laugh at them and walk away. Then they will sit until they are reasonable again. I'm sorry but all the things that are going in the vehicle are very easily done after market without the huge mark ups.

In addition the Scion's are going to be less expensive.

Dealers don't have incentive to sell this car below MSRP. Those charging over MSRP will likely get laughed at unless the competition in the area is the same or there is no competition. And this has nothing to do with Subaru, beyond their "limited" production, it has to do with greedy dealers trying to make as much profit as possible. Remember, dealers are separate entities from Subaru.

Pre-orders opened today (no pricing yet). Grand Subaru in Bensenville, IL is getting 16 and taking pre-orders at MSRP if anyone is interested. Ask for Bill...
