Springs

Any 93-03 Impreza spring will fit.

It's best to use 93-01 specific springs.

04+ Impreza springs will not fit.
I've got a GC project in the works now (93 L sedan swapping in a JDM v7 drivetrain) and I currently have 04 STi struts AND springs on there. How? Well, first of all, work is being done by the guys at Pacific Import Auto here in Tacoma, WA so they know what they're doing. They told me that it works by using rear tophats from a BC Legacy (89-94, I believe).

Now, with that setup, I've got about 5" of wheel-well clearance (ready for rallying? ) and so if I want lowering springs, I need to look for 04-07 springs.

Any comment?

This thread isn't for custom fitment....you can make anything work if you try hard enough.

I suppose you would use 04-07 lowering springs with that set-up. However I would much rather just run a GC specific set-up and have the correct geometry since you may not have all that much camber with your set-up. That and STi struts leave a lot to be desired.

Hmm....what swap are you trying to do? I believe GD sedan lateral links will be too wide, but wagon lateral links may work. Not 100% sure.

Trailing arms should be fine.

No swap, just major repairs. I need to replace the rear wheel bearings, so why not upgrade my suspension. I have STI Ver 5 RA struts and springs that I'd like to put it, I have the front aluminum control arms I'd like to use, I figured why not upgrade the lateral links and trailing arms as well. But as I was trying to remove the long bolt that holds the lateral links to the rear disk hub, the head broke off the bolt. So I am now forced to have someone do this correctly for me. Right now I am shopping around for a good Subaru shop as well as finding a set of lateral links and trailing arms.

So you are saying the trailing arms from any year STI would work?

springs will fit, (front) struts won't fit so the camber issue is moot

FYI, apparently from this thread you can fit rear 02-07 impreza coilovers/struts to fit the rear of the 05-07 STi. I guess only mainly applicable to doing the koni inserts.

This information may be helpful to others since it was very helpful with me.

^ This is true, the rears will fit (be sure to have the right rear springs/tophats).

But for clarity's sake I left it the way it is. Maybe I'll add a note later?

Default fitment confermation

After a lot of hours searching all the subaru forums i could find, i think i've found a lift setup that will work w/ my 96 legacy outback. with the exception of a small brake line mount modification, i believe this strut/spring combination from a 01 forrester s should bolt right in.
http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...-wheels-32239/
Before I buy, i'm just checking if any body out there has swapped from this year model forrester. All swaps i've found seem to have been from Pre-2000 or the xt models.

Thanks for the help

Any info on front sway bars and endlinks would be helpful for the GC line (MY93-2001).

So am I correct in thinking that if I get some 02-03 WRX springs and put them on my MY00 2.5RS (AGX struts with stock springs now), they will fit into the stock perches and everything?

If so, then I can get some Prodrive springs in 02-03 WRX fitment and have roughly the stock ride height but with a stiffer spring, correct?

Should be the same fitment from 93-01. Turbo front bars will not fit a non-turbo car.

Probably worth it's own thread. 01 Forster should be the same fitment as pre 2000 for suspension though.

They'll physically fit, but I have no idea what they'll do for your ride height and how it'll handle since it's designed for a completely different car.

some have done this with different results and impressions. Not suggested.

Why is it not suggested? What are some of the drawbacks? Do you have any links to people who've done it?

I understand that putting a spring that was not intended to use on my car onto my car is not necessarily a good idea, I just want to know if there is knowledge and experience of specific drawbacks.

Thanks!
