![]() It ought to be just like a turbo swap, the engine fits and bolts up ok, but then you're looking at wiring the whole engine bay to make it run.

![]() the only 3.3l H6 was the SVX. H6 outbacks had the 3.0L motor. Wiring would definately be challenging and you'd have to use the H6 ecu or a stand-alone.

![]() correct me if im wrong, but i believe i read somewhere that the h6 motor is actually longer then the 2.5's so there might not be enough room in the BD's... but then again, it fits in the BE's... someone who knows what their talking about chime in.... its been a long day so i could be loosin my mind...

![]() Due to the chain drive for the cams, the EZ30 is only about 0.8" longer than the EJ25. The EZ30R I think is a bit longer due to the AVCS cam gears on the intake cams.
The engine will fit into a GC Impreza, so I don't see any reason it won't fit into a BD/BG Legacy (and no, the BD/BG Outbacks never came with an H-6). Radiator fan clearance may be an issue, but I think that can be worked around pretty easily. I have an EZ30R that I bought from Gruppe-S sitting in my garage. It will probably go into the car sometime in the spring/summer. Pat Olsen '97 Legacy 2.5GT sedan |

![]() EG33 will not fit into a Legacy without a lot of modding to the radiator and possibly the body. It's a full 6" longer than an EJ25.
There was never an EG33 in anything except the SVX. EZ30 was made for the Legacy though, so it'll fit fine. |

![]() The EZ30R is what was in the 3.0 Outbacks right?
How hard would it be to boost a H6? about the same as boosting any other stock motor? I can see it being pretty tight, but man would that be sweet ![]() |

Yeah, it was a fast track car, but didn't handle all that great because of a poor weight distribution. |

![]() A bit of thread mining but here is my BG7 with EZ30D and Sti manual trans. I am in Australia.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's a pretty straighforward swap for me (I do them for a living). Even with the "inferior" single port EZ30 it's still pretty quick and easy to drive. I am building a new engine to turbo soon. probably do something along the lines of PhatSuby's project to keep it stealth. |

![]() I know two people personally who have done H6 conversions. One put his in a GF8 (HX20), the other into a BG5 (GTB). Both used the EZ30R, and Link G3 ECU's.
Meet "Not Another White GTB" No engine shots for you sorry (that'd be giving away his seekrets), but yeah, that's an H6 converted '97 GTB (JDM) ![]() Last edited by ReubenH; 05-25-2008 at 08:46 AM. |

![]() Cool. Didn't know where he had posted, some people like to keep how they do things to themselves for some reason.

theres a few of them done this side of the pond in the UK, Andy Forrest being the most notable. It seems to be mainly done to run mega power, aka 1000bhp+ had alot more done to it since this link was writen but gives you an idea http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index...-on-pro-class/ |
