Default Domain hosting...

As of Monday I will have my new ADSL line and it comes with one, wait for it...

STATIC IP!!!!

I am happy. Now I need some domain registration. I know dhs.org used to be free but I don't think they are anymore. A lot of you are in the IT world so let me hear suggestions. I want cheap and NO ADS!!! Thanks guys.

If you are really going ot try and host a web presence, just go the extra mile and spend the $15 /mo and host through Liquidweb. It's a real web server with real application support and real bandwidth.

Also, free domain registration...

I use these guys for several (yes, that's MULTIPLE) of my sites.

are you saying that since you have a static ip you want to host yourself?

if so.. get a FREE account at www.zoneedit.com they give you the first million hits a month (or year) free... been using them for years.
Buy your domain name and point it to the dns servers that zoneedit tells you to

The whole pont of having your own static ip is to host the stuff youself...I do my own DNS but use jumpdomain.com for registration for my domains. First million hits? Blah who wants to deal with that crap just pay the $15 a year.

I don't know.. but I don't run sites that get even close to a million hits a year.. I doubt many people on here do. So for me.. that would be a waste of $15/year
