Not in Tucson, but still in SouthWest in a way
Hiya, thought I'd say hi and introduce myself instead of lurking the SWIC board. Lived in Phoenix for a while until '92 (75th Ave and Camelback). Been in Tucson since '03. Right now I'm just trying to learn more about my car by reading the threads and coming here to laugh with you folks. Unfortunately I know very little about the STI cause I bought it like two weeks before I deployed. Previous owner had an assignment elsewhere and wanted to sell before he left (overseas). So now I'm in SouthWest Asia (safe and easy spot, so no worries), but still hot (highs 113 to 114 all week) and sometimes 100 percent relative humidity.
Current spec: 05 STI Stg 2 tune w/ Cobb Turbo Back Cobb Lightweight Main Pulley Cobb Sport Springs STI Radiator Cap BF Goodrich KDW/2 What I'm planning on is first upgrading the turbo and supports. Not sure if I'm going to do anything with suspension or plan until I know/read more. I don't plan on going over 400whp due to no engine mods. So far I've been looking over some other folks build and mainly want to do like that Dom III dude did in Utah. Stimes? Planning or have already bought ESX TMIC APS dual BOV Agency Power Turbo inlet 750cc to 850cc injectors Walbro 255L fuel pump Some sort of CAI TGV Delete Prodrive Boost Control Solenoid (or similar) P&P stock manifold AP V2 Turbo (2.4in or 3in) w/internal WG ext WG for longer term project. Well, was trying to e-mail IA Performance Tuning down in Tucson, but hadn't heard back. But not really sure if they read it. They only had APS turbos (which I've heard negative stuff and seems to be more expensive than others) and Elemental Tuning listed on their site, so not sure if they're willing to work on other types of turbos for tuning and/or install. Basically I'm just wanting a daily driver type with just 91 gas. I'm not even sure of my uppipe right now cause I'd have to fly 8000 miles to look. I've had the noob stuff happen to me too. Took me 30 minutes before I decided to read the Owner's Manual on the steering column light switch. I think the dude switched it on for a laugh. Lastly, all I can say is you guys are spoiled with 101 and 202 and 51 that goes all the way down. Tucson still won't get out of their small town mentality and get a loop going. When I lived in East Tucson, took me 30 to 45 minutes to drive to I-10 and only took me 1.5 hours to drive to Central Phoenix. Have fun
