You on the other hand, are being an immature entitled douchebag. You really think people here are going to appreciate you being an ass to your neighbors and being proud of the fact that you've managed to make someones life hell? Go **** yourself. Being a car "enthusiast" does not give you right to be a douche. You are a child. Oh, and I'm sure calling out a mod is going to help your cause.

Even my cobb tbe rattles the windows in my house. Either push it or roll it down the road, drive a different car when you have to leave early, or make it quieter. They are being very reasonable imo.

Your exhaust is too loud for your neighborhood. Try having kids and a family and dealing with that on top of your stupid exhaust that probably sounds like a helicopter at idle. Be considerate of others if you live in close quarters. I'd fix it before they fix you, be thankful you got a polite letter in the mailbox and not a cinder block through your windshield with the note taped on instead.

You shouldn't be upset. It was good that they left a note instead of taking this another route. I try to drive slowly since I know my car is louder than most, I also try to warm up my vehicle before pulling off. I can appreciate the sound of a nice audible exhaust on almost any vehicle...but unfortunately some people don't like it. That is just the way it is...fortunately or unfortunately I have a bunch of Honda owners flying up and down my street with some pretty horrible sounding exhaust systems, no tone, just loud...slow or fast. I think I am in the clear as long as they stay around lol. BTW that is not a slight towards Honda owners...I like all cars...but these things take the cake, pretty much thrown together cars, barely hanging on, being driven hard and trashed by their owners.

I lived in Sac for a long ass time and people seemed more annoyed with "loud" exhausts and race cars more than anywhere else I've lived since, if it's as loud as your neighbors are saying then I'd have to ask if you've ever been pulled over/gotten a ticket for it? |

Try to keep a good attitude about it, sometimes its tough living so close together. A catted dp and spt catback shouldn't be too loud. I've got that combo on my 2011 5 door and its not that bad. it does idle at a frequency that does rattle glass so that neighbor isn't exaggerating. Your set up must be brutal, it takes a lot for a neighbor to actually go through with writing you a letter. They must be miserable at this point, be a decent guy and help them out.

Replace the exhaust with something not as loud. You probably are going to get stopped by the cops for it sometime anyway. Sucks to live in California.

Ha! California does have some good reasons to live here. I just moved from WA and like it better here. I couldn't get use to the 9 months of rain up there.

On the extreme side of quiet while keeping flow for stg2+ , catless or high flow cat downpipe and stock catback. It works.

How about just buy a ****ing silencer on ebay and shove it in your exhaust when you are leaving that early in the morning.
Problem solved. You keep your loud exhaust. They get to sleep. |

Ooo
Nice note - takes guts to do what person did. Before getting defensive, maybe you should try to understand where they are coming from.
Just sayin! |

You're lucky they were nice enough to write you a note instead of calling the cops. Are you beating the **** out of the car or something when you leave? Keeping it at low RPMs would probably suffice.

Crank up the stereo until they can't hear the exhaust.

Letter was just fine IMO. They proposed several alternatives. I'd keep the revs down and run it in neutral as much as possible. I think they went about it just fine. I would have said something face to face but if I got this letter the only thing I would be upset about is that I couldn't talk to them.

Try and find something a little quieter. If you have an N1 Style exhaust, get a silencer. OR, drive your other car. People do need rest man :/. Maybe the person didn't want to talk to you in person because they'd be afraid you'd be all like "YO WHAT THE **** IS YOUR PROBLEM BITCH? I'LL **** YOU UP YOU LIL *****, I'LL BEAT YO DIDDY ASS SAAN. TRYIN TO TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MAH JDM AS **** LIFE *****? IM FROM THE STREETS BITCH". Or seek "revenge".
People are crazy, and people are afraid. |

I used to like loud exhausts... lasted until i was about 27 or so lol.
now i have a borla on my wrx. still aggressive sounding, but quiet idle, quiet normal driving, less attention from cops, better able to hear little squeaks, rattles, or "something different" under the hood before it turns into a bigger problem, and best part - fewer rice-holes trying to race me at every light. |
