I think thats a bad angle. If the car was facing the camera the angle would work better and removing the parking lines and moving the car a little farther away from the wall would do wonders.

Thanks, I think I'm going to actually go back and try that.

If you re-shoot this, the car needs to be on the opposite side of the frame for sure, everything in the pic is on the left, so it's heavily weighted to that side with nothing on the right. However, this is a bad spot really, you're not showing anything meaningful, no story at all, so I'd just forget it alltogether if I were you, and look for something more interesting there. Maybe a spot with interesting lighting like the shot below. You have an interesting car, and you're doing it a disservice by placing it in such a bland environment IMO.

Part of my problem is that between wife, kids, and work I have very very limited time for photography let alone taking my car out for a joyride. My progress is slow and I seem to be going back to old photos to edit just to try and do something photography related. This garage pic is actually from last year and I would not have ordinarily published it had it not been for a new look I was going for in color adjustments.

I was just thinking what you said last night about story. I don't see a lot of stories being told in my photos. I honestly don't even know what the story your photo is telling. I just know that it looks cool.

First, I like your color adjustments, but would push it just a bit further blue, as any yellow at all in concrete makes the location look dirty, so guys usually go for the blue/desat look. A lot of cyan and greens showing up in commercial, but very little yellow. I still like the blue/desat look myself, but your adjustments are fine.

Story is hard to do in photo's, but it's worth thinking about, and carries as much weight as composition. In my photo I'm simply showing how mean a Neon can look via the intercooler/wide front slicks/darkness, and selective lighting. It's not a lot of story, but it's something.

As long as you're thinking about story you'll make better judgements on where to place the subject. It doesn't take a lot, just some thought. In your pic it's simply another a$$hole BMW driver that can't park .

But seriously, that car deserves a better location. You'll win some, and lose some, but think about it and try to place the car where it might be dreamed about instead of seen every day.

This makes me want to just take a roadtrip to see the sights, get inspired, and take pics. It's difficult when you don't want to make your passengers (aka my wife and son) bored when you want to setup a shot. They are good sports and all, I just feel bad for them, haha. This next pic, my son was with me, and the sun was disappearing, so pulled off on the next semi-okay spot.

That's a really nice shot. You could have easily removed that sign and green thing on the left side though.

Took my camera along to hang out with my friend at a buddies shop last night. This wasnt the shot I wanted to edit, I was getting intial composition and then redid it in another slightly different angle but the focus ring must have been bumped bc they were all off slightly. So I made this one work

I didn't like this shot at first, but the more I look at it, the more it interests me in some way. I'd make a few changes if I kept it, clean it up a bit, and shorten the building. Here's my 2-minute version.

yeah i didnt like it that much at first either that's why I recomposed the shot. My damn oversight on the focus ring screwed me Still think it turned out alright. I think I will clean that area up it looks better that way.

Here is another one I just finished up. Been at this one a few hours so here is a rough draft.

I am gonna order an Yongnuo light stick for light painting bc that would have worked better for certain parts of this shot.

Finally got my car behind my 5DMk2, I have a list of critiques for myself but I want more C&C.

I'm not experienced enough to know the workflow for using a pen/other sort of tool to mask off the car and spot heal/clone that building out over the hood, can someone help out with that or copy and paste a youtube tutorial for the proper procedure? Thats the last thing I'd like to fix with this shot.

That last shot just needs some tweaks to be impossible. Well done. I couldn't do much with the JPEG, but I did what I could. Hope you don't mind.

Noted, I just switched from a 2009 13" MacBook Pro to a 2015 15" and I'm not used to the screen differences. When its in LR it looks one way but after it goes to Flickr it appears different. I'll go back and tweak them, thanks for the feedback.

They shouldn't look any different. You might just be looking at them on a different background.

They seem a bit brighter after upload. Its hard to describe unless you see it in person. I'm sure its something I'm doing or some export setting thats not correct, I only have about 8 months teaching myself the programs. Regardless I need to be able to recognize that on my own, and yours and others eyes really help.

Make sure that everything is set to the same color space, sRGB for example. If the camera is set one way, and the program a different way, they will always look different upon upload.

And for the record, only 3 of the shots look blue to me, the others are spot on. What's too blue is the subject, so you simply select and desaturate. In this case you could actually just use selective color and remove some of the cyan.

This type of shot needs multiple exposures because of the bright sky. Next time try under-exposing the sky a bit, and then maybe over-exposing the car just a bit. You can always bring each back in recovery (careful not too go too far with white though), and upon compositing each the scene will really pop.

Like with polarizations, there are many times when 1 shot just won't give you that great result, so learning to composite multiple polarizations and exposures will really give you an edge.

This shot was just that way. Photographers will know it has been fiddled with, but no one else would even suspect.
