The stewards don't agree with you - they definitely take past behaviors/warnings into account when they evaluate events. They say it all the time.

His stupidity here could very easily come back to haunt him next season in a questionable event.

Off the racing line ON THE STRAIGHT. You DO NOT cause issues for the lead cars PERIOD. Dude I've been in/around racing for 30yrs, have my FIA license etc, this is pretty simple and every driver knows it.

And Max didn't turn down on Ocon. You clearly don't understand cornering or turn 1 at Brazil. If a car is ahead out of the first part of turn 1, it is ahead. To also be on the racing line AND ahead, no he didn't turn down into him. Ocon tried to force the issue and he drove right into Max.

I've given Max tons of flack over the last 2 years. I frankly don't like him as a person. But I'm not going to let that change the rules of racing. And literally every commentator agreed on this, Ocon was an idiot and had no business doing what he did and how he did it.

Regarding today? Meh not a big deal, it was def a payback move with a very light touch. We've seen way way worse. Was it dirty? 100%. But again, not relevant to what happened last week.
Maybe I'm misstating my opinion...

I'm a JPM guy. F1, all around, probably needs more Max. In that sense, I'm a fan if the sport moves that way. But I'm sorry, I just don't understand how one can look at Ocon's move on Max, vs. what he does every damn weekend, and see big distinctions. You have every right to unlap yourself (imagine if Lewis had a puncture early and was moving around a Williams to unlap himself). If you race (and apparently you do), while it's one thing to have awareness of position/standing/etc., you also act on instinct a lot, and a FI on a RB is close enough that I think he has every right to fight for position when he's faster.

If nothing else, the bias/kid gloves from the commentators showed today defending Max's driving style was blatantly obvious (well, if Ocon had not regained, the stewards may have tagged him).

Again, I think F1 needs guys like Max...but then treat everyone the same. He's so aggressive out there, people just steer clear of him. That doesn't make his moves better, people just fear crashing out. Max ALWAYS dumps it in too far, runs wide and forces guys to decide between ending their race of backing out of their position.

Just be consistent. If you want to support what Max is doing, then it needs to go across the board imho. "The rest" aren't allowed to pull the same stuff that Max does. That's ****. Makes for **** racing/regulating.

100% this. You can get away with this kind of practice if you have incredible raw pace. It's what Senna did. If you're a meh driver and pulling that kind of move, you'll end up out of a drive. But if you're truly fast, sacrificing results earlier in these bold moves yields great results later on.
