Yea. I am going to flair the car. Ironing wheel specs out and loving the R888Rs so I will get those again on the next setup.
but I am thinking RPF1s. I always loved the simple design.

well, waiting for for the diffuser to get here. It was a cool day out in NJ so I went for a quick drive. I am happy to report the motor build has been planned out and I will start shortly (some stuff has been ordered).
Well, anyways a quick shot from today. Last edited by stikid2005; 04-02-2020 at 02:31 PM. |

This will be a fun build to watch come together. What're you planning to do with the paint? Keep it the OEM color or something different?

Yea I am going have it resprayed aspen white. The white is growing on me allot. Also, it's more cost-effective to keep it the OEM color. Thanks for checking it out.

I also thought of something last night that I think might look good. I am playing with the idea of getting the front bumper painted blending up to the front fenders. leaving the doors since they are ok paint wise just have some dents that I'm going to try and work out as best as I can... and then re-paint the rear bumper and blend that up the rear quarter panels. to address the top I want to wrap that in metallic black for a two-tone style look to take care of the issues up top. We will see.
kinda like this. [IMG][/IMG] credit to hawkinx4 Not sure if this car is still around. After the diffuser gets installed I will be slowing down a bit. My Wife's lease is up and I just picked her up new car so I got to get the bank account back up before the holidays. |

The roof takes me back to another era; refreshing? yes, in a way. would I love to see your spin on it, of course. Nothings permanent, so explore as you see fit. As for the blending, that's a great idea. Definitely a good alternate, most people go with wraps but nothing beats a classic wet paint job.

I do need to slow down though. I keep trying to rush things but I think winter will help with that. |

Amen for winter lol, there's no cool down period after paint. Make sure you get all the exterior parts and extras JIC.

Love what you're doing here. There's no better feeling than bringing a car back from the brink. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!
BTW, RPF1's are the business. No bias here... |

How was taking the blade to your car? I so the post on Instagram. It's a little unnerving at first right? After the first cut it is no big deal. Last edited by stikid2005; 11-16-2019 at 08:51 PM. |

Hell yea! Thanks! Your car is amazing by the way! My first 05 STi was black with gold bbs. I wish they made the gold RPF1's in the wider sizes. There is always powder coating I guess.

Cleaning out the garage putting away the Halloween decorations and getting out the Christmas stuff... It was nice to hear a good old straight pipe cold start! It's been years!
Also, the diffuser is in. The company forgot the hardware though. I usually change the hardware up anyways but if I paid for it I want it. I am not too sure about this piece... I will have a write up on it and dealing with the company when I get the hardware. Last edited by stikid2005; 11-16-2019 at 10:01 PM. |

Well, weather is getting warmer. I have a bunch of parts I gathered over the winter. This was my spring cleaning helper. She mostly just watched me and eat Dunkin Donuts...

so I cleaned up the garage tore down the other motor.
Then I found this... thoughts? my fingernail gets stuck in the first one but barely noticeable... all other cylinders are fine. crosshatching is visible in all cylinders. FYI I was planning on using this block because of it having Manley rods and pistons with a 07 nitrated crank |

So upon closer inspection, this block needs to be bored out. Sucks. Ohh well I took a gamble. I am not going to bore/hone the block. I don't see the value in doing that when I could put that money into a closed deck block.
Now the decision I have to make is do I tear this short block down to reuse the internals and order new closed deck case halves. Or do I just get prebuilt from AIG I think in the long run the price of doing the first option would not be significantly cheaper to warrant the work. Also, I will be starting fresh with the peace of mind that the short block was built start to finish with fresh parts by a trusted builder... Sucks. Either way, I might tear the block down for the experience. some more pictures: Last edited by stikid2005; 04-02-2020 at 02:36 PM. |
