Question WRX 2014 Wheels and Snow

Just wondering if anyone knows if the 2002 WRX stock wheels which are 16 inch will fit the WRX 2014 with 17 inch wheels.

Have access to the 16 inch wheels and would like to put snow tires on them. I currently have the OEM Dunlop summer tires on the car. Thanks for any feedback.

Also if anyone has advice for second set of wheels and tires for snow if the 16 inch should not fit. Thanks.

They fit just fine. Caliper clearance is just over 1/4".
It does look a bit silly, but they ride nice.

nothing wrong with some meaty tires in the winter. I'm on 16's by choice (2005 wrx wheels), I'm selling my stock 17's.

They ride much smother on rough roads. Around here, we get potholes left and right in the winter. I have hit some seriously deep holes and have been very glad I had the flexibility of 16's over the stock 17's, I'd have popped a tire and bent a wheel for sure.

Plus, 16" winter tires are generally much cheaper.

It's that same reason I still use 17's in the summer instead of going up to 18's.

According to this brake thread, the 2011-2014 WRX's do have 4-pot brakes in the front. The thread maker says that no Subaru 16x6.5 clears the four-pot brakes.

Any reason why the TireRack 16x6.5 steel wheels do?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't say the 11-14 wrx has 4-pots in that thread.
