ISC coilovers, 17x9 +38, 245/40 no fender mods the rears should probably have been rolled though.

Awesome, thank you. I'm assuming these 08-10 Impreza wheels are 5x100 bolt pattern and the idea offset is somewhere in the +35/40 range to get the wheels flush with the fenders?

Correct, but with the wide lower offsets be prepared to possibly roll the fenders for clearance.

Yup especially the rears, I have +35 offset with -2 camber in the rear and they needed to be rolled, the fronts on the other hand are fine

Viewed that car today. After idling for a few minutes, just behind the passenger headlight I could see/smell some oil residue burning off. I assume something is leaking slightly in that area, couldn't pinpoint it. Any of you guy's have an idea what it might be? I know the Cats were replaced recently on the car. Also, I viewed the car on a lift and the undercarriage was completely dry, no leaks. Except the damn rear exhaust flanges were completely rusted. Viewed another '08 Impreza at the dealer today with 95k on it and the exhaust looked just as bad.

Usually leeks are easy to find on our cars. Everything can be seen right from the top of the engine bay. Check the valve cover gaskets. I'd say give it a nice rev but the throttle is electronic so you can't rev and look in the engine bay at the same time. It's an easy job for a mechanic and they should be able to replace it without making you pay for it.

Yeah, i'm not too worried, this engine looks simple to work on, just afraid it may be a huge problem, motor sounds fine though. These Subaru engine bays look way more inviting to work on than my 10lbs of **** in a 5lbs box of an Audi engine bay.

How low have you guys gone without having to change out the toe links and camber bolts? I've heard 1 inch is the max before i throw off the rear suspension geometry. I'm currently sitting about an inch lower than stock. I think 2 inch gap so yeah haha

Not sure if I posted these... They're from the Christmas storm we got.

And who needs a plow to plow? Surely not me. (This was about 2 days after the storm when they still haven't plowed yet)

Premier, that is the OEM roof rack? Looks great, how much do they go for?

Also, to the dude with the red Impreza 2.5I hatch from MA I think... what are the specs(width, offset) on the steelies your running in the winter? I have a set of 225/55/16 brand new Conti DWS tires I would love to mount on a set of black steelies if I do decide to buy this 08 Impreza.

Thanks again guys, sorry for all the questions!

Just got my fuel injectors cleaned and throttle body cleaned today. I'd like to compare it to my first and last car before the Subaru. My 07 Accord 4cyl. I had always figured I would've felt the 10 extra lbs of torque with the impreza but never quite did until today. Wow my car needed that! Engine is running so smooth as I bought the car used it has never felt so good.

Edit: a lot of Honda heads up in NY sadly some are my friends who think I've downgraded from an accord to an impreza.... What a joke!

Hey guys, have a few more questions for you:

I've been searching and reading hundreds of pages in this thread but just so much info to catch up on in only a few days!

The car i'm looking at has had the cats replaced but the rest of the exhaust back needs to be replaced. Do most of you guy's go Magnaflow or another Japanese system such as Injen or Invidia? Where is the best pricing for new exhausts?

Also, I've found the 2008 2.5I wheels are 5x100, but what is the Centerbore size? So I know if I can run wheels off a legacy or older Impreza models. I really want to run a set of 16" or 17" steelies for the time being like Kevinke's hatch, but need to know the centerbore and width dimensions. Thanks guys!

whats the point of getting an expensive exhaust for almost no gains?

I'd say find a WRX hatch exhaust 08-09 and use that catback. Its louder than stock, and has a good balance of low/high end. The STI quad-tip is abit louder than that, but the low end is lost.

New exhaust is like $500+

If you like N1, get a Tsudo for $200, but even then, there is almost no low end at all...

I don't want to spend alot to replace the OEM exhaust on that comes on the 2008 2.5I. I didn't know the WRX hatch catback exhaust would work on a 2.5I sedan. Just found that in another thread 5 minutes ago. Check the local classifieds/Craigslist, nothing. N1/Tsudo... is that a catback system, dual exhaust or single side? I'm looking at exhaust for a sedan 2.5i. Thank you for the response.

a used WRX OEM cbe can be had for $60 picked up locally. They will work from the Catback.

Here you go.

BTW, why do you want an exhaust? are you looking for performance or sound?

Only looking at an exhaust because the 08 2.5I I plan on buying... is rusted to crap. Flanges in the back by the mufflers look like they won't last a year. Ideally, I've love to buy a new or upgraded OEM exhaust, if not I will go aftermarket.

Well no matter what, since you're in New Jersey, you will rust exhausts because they will salt roads in winter.

Why wouldn't you consider a used OEM exhaust since you mentioned you wouldn't spend alot on one?

Generally, used OEM exhausts are used for a few thousand miles, and then are sold due switching to an aftermarket exhaust.
