Do you think its the HU or a fuse issue? If its the HU going, I'll probably end up upgrading to a better one. Thanks for the offer though.

If it was a fuse, the radio would shut off, not just the speakers. I wonder if it would do it with just the radio on or a different source selected, like a CD or something. Maybe it has something to do with your ipod cord or something.. Maybe it is shorting out.

You have to test it with a different source like everyone is saying. if it does it with a different source (unplug the cord, don't just switch to a different source and leave plug in)... if it still does it, then it cannot be blamed on the ipod cord.

Anyone in here using an after market oil cooler? If so how do you have it set up, which brand, and any pictures?

I'm starting to hear a thump in the driver side trunk area now. I only hear it when i go over bumps or potholes; pretty much anything that makes the car go up and down lol

I'm running coils, so i check that and everything is fine. I was thinking it may be because the control arm is hitting my exhaust. Since i did lower it again, but by only a 1/4 inch

Any suggestions?

Hmm...Will do so. Also, the ipod is connected to the cigarette lighter in front of the shift knob and is transmitted through FM. I'll try just the radio or CD.

Could just be the suspension "clunking" around. I'm starting to hear a similar noise on the passenger side trunk area . Could be swaybars, endlinks, new bushings, brake lines, tophats. Basically anything that can move or be hit/moved by other various components.

Oh well I thought it might be connected with a cord. If you are transmitting to an FM station, then essentially, you are just listening to the radio as far as the head unit knows. So... yeah, not sure what the hell is going on there.

It sounds like maybe your head unit is crapping out internally. I suppose if it was losing power for a millisecond, then the power is back on, maybe it could cause such a symptom, but I doubt it. You could pull the head unit, check the connections, check the grounds really good, etc.

I have an extra one too, LOL.. but I think I may keep it to put back in the car if I ever sell the car and want to kepe my Pioneer head unit.

That's exactly what i was thinking lol, that or I'm hitting my fender liner. But my shocks have little to no travel. I'm pretty sure something is loose and its smacking my undercarriage.

It might possibly be my sway bar; fingers crossed Lol

I would think if its a something loose it would make a thump followed with a slight rattle. But if its just one solid thump then maybe the wheels hitting something when the suspension travels. Or it could be the bodies in the hatch just rolling around? Haha

I had to, it had clips holding it to the lower piece on the bottom... (and it made running everything for my Sirius and Bluetooth receivers easier)

Yes from what I see on the forums you have to unscrew one screw and the silver trim pops out and from there you pop out the vent bezel

My friend showed me a way for me not to unscrew anything but the radio
And no trim comes out except the one around the radio

Lol no that's just the normal way to do it. Bottom right hand corner has a flat head sized slot in it that you can get a panel tool or screwdriver in to pop it loose.
