Question STi Not hitting target boost

Hey guys, i'm having troubles with my tuned 2012 sti car not hitting target boost, i checked the vacuum lines and everything seems kosher, also disconnected the battery terminal and pumped the brakes, then tried again right after that, with the same effect. I understand this means its not a tuning related issue, but a mechanical one, so i logged on Romraider and i noticed the wastegate duty cycle going to 0 after the car hits 11 or so psi. My question is the waste gate the issue?

Not a tuner or expert, but I would say because it's detecting knock feedback for though the entire run, it may also be limiting boost to prevent more knock. I've read 0 to -2 on occasion is nothing to worry about constant or over 2 should be checked out.

But because it's detecting knock does not mean you have knock. Loose or rattling engine components (heat shield, a/c lines...) could fool the knock sensor.

Ahh okay, im getting a tuner to take a look at the map right now, but yeah this happened out of nowhere and i reset the ecu already and it didnt change the fact that it still isnt hitting target boost, so doesnt that mean it has nothing to do with the tune?

The WGDC is only going to 0 after you let off the throttle. If you weren't having any issues previously with the tune, then the current issue is likely mechanical as you suspect.

Ahh I see, any idea what mechanical issue might be the culprit? I've checked the post turbo lines and the 3 port ebcs connections and all seems in order

What is your target boost and what mods do you have?

Target boost should be around 18.8 or so. I've got a catless DP, Nameless muffler deletes, Cobb SF intake/Airbox, grimmspeed 3 port EBCS and a open source tune from Racing Greed

Can you log the relative target boost instead of absolute? That way it would show exactly what boost the ECU is calling for.

Okay, I'll do that later today and post, the tuner got back to me and said the target looks to be 17.5 in reality, getting 11
