picked mine up saturday, I love it so far just hate the radio. My ipod is the first gen so it doesn't charge under USB, if I plug my phone into the USB I have to turn the BT off so it will play but will charge..then if I BT the audio obviously it won't charge while connected to the usb since the usb needs to be active to produce the charge. Anyone else figure a solution to this?

Also speed dial can't be activated when driving? don't get that since you can change the preset fm tune on the fly but you can't push 1,2,3 etc while trying to speed dial.

I hope so, but I haven't received any word that my car has left the port yet.

Yep apparently there is something in the wifes impreza with the new nav head unit that won't allow you to put in certain things in the maps mode with the car in motion.

This is completely STUPID considering most of the time either I, or she, is a passenger and we are the ones trying to set it up after we are already in motion.
I get the whole "set it up first, then drive" thing, but WHILE we are driving she wants to look for food or change destinations and it just won't until you stop.

Haven't completely documented ALL the things you can't do while in motion, but i'm sure Divx Video is another.
Can we snip this wire in the harness? Any clue which one it is?
Seriously the most annoying oversight ever. They should have wired this to the passenger airbag sensor in the seat so that when a passenger is there you can do whatever you want....

This is how I feel. But I'm trying really hard to be patient and just wait for the call...no expectations = no disappointments

Wait...so the radio has to be set to USB for the phone to charge? That seems kind of crappy. I was hoping to eliminate the need for a phone car charger and just use the USB all the time. Oh well, might be able to rewire around the "activation switch" for the USB voltage to an always-on junction. Actually, that would be REALLY nice so stuff would charge even when the car is not running, just gotta watch the battery.

edit i do love the BT audio though no plugging in and you can scroll thru the playlists. The bad part is though if you have a playlist that text is too long the radio won't scroll all the way thru to see which disk it is. However you may be able to access under artists instead of playlists. Haven't tried this yet.

another trying task is to voice add the ph #'s. It works well with some #'s but others it never gets it right. 2 min tasks turns into 30 mins. After 1 hour I got 4 #'s in

aaaand I'm out! My order still has a December ETA but an almost identical WRX order showed up unclaimed so I snatched it up Saturday. Thanks Mike @ Evanston! Top notch guy and what a great dealership!

Sorry no pics yet

This is what happened to me. I forgot to mention to them I didn't want front plates drilled (the one I saw earlier in the spring had a note that said no front so I was thinking it was common practice on these). So now I have two lovely little holes in my bumper

Of course we have front plates required in Iowa, but I would have preferred to be able to do it myself and make use of the square holes right next to the two. Not to mention there is no assurance that these holes won't strip eventually and my stainless plate will just fall off. My only real complaint aside from forgetting my phone is in the armrest because I'm listening to Pandora through USB...

Those holes wont strip out. At least I have never seen one do it. There is material behind where those holes are that grab the screw. Can't remember what it is though...

Disclaimer that I can't speak to the legality of this, but I'm guessing one could simply drill the license plate itself to match the spacing of the JDM square holes.

Most states have some sort of law against modification of license plates. But who'd notice... Maybe California coppers who seem to be pretty big on modifications.

Ordered 8/18. Just went from generic "month of November" to "On Hold".

That is happening to many orders around the country. If dealers put in noticably more orders then they "earned" Subaru is putting them on "hold" until they can figure out how to fill them all.

There is supposed to be answers in the next week or two about what is going to happen. Stay tuned and try not to freak out too much if you can.

What if your car isn't on hold and is just no where to be found?

Those missing cars are not really missing. My understanding is that they were held up shipping wise. Subaru tried to bring sold wrx/sti to our region fromt he East Coasdt ports just to try and get more orders sold, but since that is not ever the normal routing they are having some issues with logistics.

I am expecting an answer in the next day or two.

Thanks for the input. It's strange though, I'm pretty sure I'm the first WRX/STi order at this dealership and I don't think they have a lot of orders placed. Not freaking out yet, I'm doing well so far at being patient
