Help upgrading rotors 2010 WRX
Rotors are starting to get a little worn, nothing major. But definitely getting plenty of rust. I'm looking to upgrade, but the amount of brands is slightly overwhelming.
Yes, i've went though the sticky posts. I simply want a good quality rotors that are coated for corrosion, possibly slotted. Def. not drilled. Yes, i know if i'm not tracking it's not exactly worth it. I do prefer the look, personal preference. Since i'll be working on it i'll probably change to SS brake lines. Again, i'm not expecting drastic differences. I tend to upgrade when i do maintenance when cars get some age. I've researched stoptech, EBC, zimmerman (though i don't think i can get them), FactionFab, DBA, and a few other's. Can't find consistent research on most of them. Seems many sport or street rotors are outsourced from China while claiming US. I don't want to "upgrade" to a rotor that isn't even OEM quality. Seems places like RallySport and Flatiron tuning package stoptech a lot. So any advice on quality rotors would be appreciated at this point. I was sold on DBA until forums stated their street rotors were not as good quality due to being made in china. hell, who knows how many rotors i've already used there were. It may not even matter. But before i spend money, just trying to do the research. |

If you just want something to drive around on, ie; no racing, auto-x, etc., then Centrics are very popular. Never used them myself.
I've had DBAs for years and never had issues so I would always recommend them. As far as slotted vs. no slotted, I started using slotted years ago and would not go back. They help to clear water out from between the rotors and pads if its raining. Suggest you give a call to KNS Brakes. Brakes, rotors, etc. is their business. Excellent Customer Service and they will talk to you and set you up for what you need. |

Yeah I was about to purchase a full package from KNS but held off. I may do that then.
And slotted seem to be the way I want to go. How much more do pads seem to wear vs regular rotors? |

Impossible to tell. I never paid attention to see if there was a difference or not.
Slotted are supposed to take ever so little edge off the pads to ensure better performance, that little edge could be a little pad glazing, or junk or something else. |

I just did stoptech slotted rotors pads and ss lines in my 12 wrx I drive it pretty hard and have been super super happy with them so far I just went for slotted mostly to look a little nicer I also painted my calipers with vht paint after stripping them down and it’s holding up really well
