What is the plan for the overhaul?

Exterior trim refinish
interior refinish

Then start working on the spare Version 8 EJ207 in my basement for a 400-500whp build.

2023 update with videos to follow when I stop being lazy and edit them

PRS 12:1 rack is being installed in April or May

Starting to collect parts for the mechanical overhaul

Its looking like a W20 V10 EJ207 bottom end will be used with all the fixings.

I also bought another BMW

2000 E46 Touring 323i

Going to start building it for GLTC racing targeting some events in the 2024 season.

Sub $3000

This one was $2000 with some good parts I can sell to make it basically a free rust free roller.

Of course , full documentary of financial stupidity.

Bugeye is also going to get a new engine this fall , likely a Version 10 W20 block with spicy head work.

Car is running excellent and the new PRS 12:1 rack is wonderful.

Some pretty big changes are going to come this spring if a buyer comes and purchases the S204 engine. I have a Version 8 207 lego kit in my basement that needs to get built.

This is also really neat, apparently my car will be in pictures at the Upgarage booth for Tokyo Auto salon !

Great build! I've always envied to a degree long term builds like these, but I always get curious and try new things. I moved on from a heavily modified 07 Spec B to a stock 335i giving BMW a try.

I've owned Honda, Acura, Mazda, Ford, Subaru and now a BMW.

I was so impressed with BMW I've decided a manual F80 M3 will be my next project/daily driver.

Thanks for sharing your journey!

Funny you mention BMW as I have been distracted by an E92 M3 for a few months now. Its a phenomenal driving car and the S65 V8 is a wonderful engine. I guess I am getting old now and having my midlife crisis at 34 years old.

I have put over 4000 miles on it this summer and the Subaru got around 700-800 miles put on it.

I kinda feel bad not driving it as much but the BMW is just much more comfortable and I am an old geriatric.

I have even considered selling the Subaru recently but the market appears to be just awful now.

Might actually be considering listing the car on Bring a Trailer but have to clean up some interior plastics I have on the shelf first.

But its winter in Michigan so both fun cars are sitting in the garage on battery tenders.

Sad to hear. I love your build. I hope you find someone who is just as enthusiastic about Subaru as you are.

Its been a great 12 years but since then I have progressed into a career and I just want it to go to a good home where someone will enjoy it.

Its hard to have a third car you only drive 500-600 miles a year from April to October with a two car garage.
