![]() Got my long block rebuilt and have already purchased the following:
IAG Long block installation kit with water pump, spark plugs, oil filters, break-in oil, etc Boost Lab turbo (TD06SL2-54X) Perrin: Turbo inlet hose Throttle body coupler kit AOS Oil Cooker Kit Mishimoto: Radiator w/ new hoses Fan shroud kit Coolant Overflow tank Ancillary hose kit Top mount intercooler Transmission cooler racing thermostat GrimmSpeed 3-port boost control solenoid Cleaned fuel injectors (BoostLab) Thinking of getting: Transmission oil filter, drive plate flywheel plate, flywheel bolt, VVT Solenoids and Fuel filter I'm a newbie and appreciate any help. This rebuild is costing me a pretty penny already and I don't want to get it all back together and realize that I missed something important. ![]()

![]() The little, teeny CVT cooler is a joke and a reason for CVT failures. I'd replace it with a "real" cooler. While not a turbo FA, when the engine went on my FB, it went up on blocks and parts were stripped and sold. Want any Crosstrek doors?

![]() Definitely get an upgraded oil pickup, inspect the timing system (chain, tensioner, guides), and confirm your fuel pump is up to the task. A little extra prep goes a long way with builds like this.

![]() Scratch the CVT filter off your list. The CVT fluid filter is buried up inside the transmission case in a place Subaru doesn't even let thier technicians go. See part 31835*A in the drawing below - they don't even list a part number for it.
No use replacing the screen in the pan - a CVT transmission don't shed friction material like a regular automatic so there is nothing to clog the screen. Just drain and fil the fluid. ![]() |
