Default EJ253 AVLS block with EJ25D heads

I’ve got a ej25d motor from my 98 Legacy Outback that developed rod knock. Picked up a low mileage EJ253 AVLS motor for cheap and would like to use the short block from it to put the ej25d heads on and put back in the car. Been trying to find info on doing this. Specifically piston deck height and volume. I’m assuming it should work with the thicker MLS gaskets used on the EJ25D since that motor had a + deck height and I believe this EJ253 does as well. I know the pistons are not the same considering the valve reliefs and quench pads. Just wanted to see if anyone else has done this block head combo with success. Thanks!
