Works even better on stock headlights because the lenses are clear

i baked the lights cuz they had some sort of film on the inside. not sure if that was supposed to be there or not. but they turned out great once i got it off.

see the film around the edge?

i used the 3m 3 stage plus polish, kit from advanced auto. it was 18$. took me a couple hours. lightwerks wanted 200$ to do it.

also retro fitted tsx projectors in...which was kind of a chore...

I 'd at all these headlight posts. Wetsanding headlights was my*plan for today (along with prepping sideskirts for paint, and reclearing a few CF bits). I've already done the plast-x and buffer wheel.

Yeah mine has a coating or "hazing" on the inside too but I think it's the uv coating since they're factory HID

You know those random moments when you're really tired of working on your build?

Thank you Gimmick Motorsports for building a turbo inlet that's totally off-spec *grumble*

Maybe after another hour or two it will actually fit.

I was at Lime Rock for the American Le Mans race yesterday and this beautiful machine was there so I snapped a quick pic. (Not my car.)

Prodrive UK300 headlights. I think they look nice but never been a fan of the funny angled recess around the turn signals. I prefer JDMs.

And regarding the question on how to remove the lense you need to bake the headlights in the oven or with a heat gun, look for retrofit threads, most of them talk about how to fdo it. Or simply look for "baking headlights".

Where did you pic them up? So will you be cutting your pinch welds out on the inside? What are you going to use to seal the metal if so? Sorry for the questions I am getting some rust in my welds am looking for options, and a repair that involves an upgrade is always the easiest to sell to the wife.

561wrx...remove everything you can from the headlight. there are two screws on the outside of the lamp that have to come out. preheat oven to 200*. place lamp on baking sheet into oven for 10 minutes.

remove with mitts...it will be hot. you'll see tabs around the lamp. seperate the lense from the housing by prying with a decent flat head. its only held together with butyl. i removed the hot butyl and used new for reassembly but some people just use it over.

i documented the retro in my build thread.

pencils...yeah i def think it was some sort of oem uv protection but it had to go.
