![]() Hyundai Sadly Deals Death Knell to the Veloster N
One of our favorite hot hatches is heading to the graveyard, along with the Hyundai Accent subcompact sedan. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a4...n-accent-dead/ - The Hyundai Veloster N will not return for the 2023 model year, the company announced today. - Hyundai said the decision is due to the introduction of the Elantra N and Kona N. - The Accent subcompact sedan is also getting the axe after the 2022 model year. ![]() No surprise here. They killed off the rest of the Velosters, no sense on keeping it alive for one small production model. Plus the Kona and Elantra N's exist.

![]() Terrible visibility and interior space for the size. I am surprised it even survived this long.

![]() The Veloster got the N brand ball rolling in the US, still a sad day.

![]() You wut mate ? Are you having trouble comprehending ? Veloster sacrificed practicality/versatility for the weird and funky styling. GTI destroyed it in sales because it trumped it in those areas. WRX does too. I am not sure if you are trying to troll or you just never driven these cars.

![]() Fine, room to give us this. You want to steal Civic R sales, this will do it.

![]() Certainly the most compelling N product sold in North America in my eyes. I understand Hyundai can't justify it with their newer N offerings, but it was nice to have one last fwd performance car that didn't compromise for practically. Not everyone needs a backseat for their arthritic mother-in-law.
The Elantra is huge and the ground clearance of the Kona is hilarious without AWD. RIP the svelte little 2 (or 3) door hatch in NA. I guess the MINI is the last of its kind. |

![]() As others said, not unexpected. I switched my Stinger GT for the VN to get into a small hatch again and love every minute driving it. I wish it was a true 2dr hatch but the compromise isn't bad. It fits a ton of stuff for its size - full week ski trip with the dog was no problem for two. Visibility is great - not sure what the problem is there? And I love the way it looks - reminds me a bit of an F2 rally car, and really, that's why I'm on this site to begin with! Anyway, moot point now, but it is disappointing.

![]() I don't think anything will steal Civic Type R sales. The Type R badge is too legendary. Honda would have to totally botch the next CTR which would be very hard to do...the latest Civic is probably one of the best looking cars in its class in hatch form just in the sport trim. I'm sure the CTR will be every bit as good as most would expect it to be.

![]() An Elantra GT-N would have been a good option against the new GTI's limited availability, price and all digital controls but no, we have to get a damn sedan and that useless three door mess.

![]() I'd never have bought one, but I'm sad to see another "hot hatch" leave the market.
