People are buying the base models up around me. I got quotes for 4 base STI from different dealers at real good prices around 36k OTD and they all got sold within 3 days. I didnt put a down deposit thinking I would be safe to buy it tomorrow...dealers with STIs have mostly limited or limited w/o wing...so I am driving 3 hrs to get one tomorrow

Taxes and reg vary but 33750 would put you at 36k Otd here in Vermont.

Just contributing another data point. A couple weeks ago in SW FL I picked up a 02/2020-production 2020 STI Limited. Base MSRP was $41,695 plus $900 destination. Accessories were $1,406 (all-weather mats, auto-dimming with homelink, cargo tray, armrest extension, rear bumper applique, STI short shifter, sunshade). My negotiated purchase price was $38,684 plus $799 dealer fee and $179 registration fee, so total $39,662. Taxes were added from there.

This works out to 6.9% off MSRP + destination, or 9.9% off MSRP + destination + dealer fee + accessories. I received the promised 0.9% financing for 48 months. I don't think this was a screaming deal, but was fair.

I don't think there's presently a factory-to-dealer incentive on the STI, so any discount is coming out of the dealer's pocket. Some dealers may be more motivated to deal based on trade-in, car's duration on the lot (floorplanning expense), geographic market dynamics, etc.

I didn't get the absolute best deal, but I got my Base sti with short shifter, all weather mats, extended arm rest, self dimming homelink mirror, and cargo tray for about 35500, destination was included.

They honored the guaranteed trade in value on my 2019 WRX and Subaru kicked in a goodwill owner loyalty incentive that took another $1000 off. Pays to have bought 7 WRXs, and now 3 STIs over the last two decades.

I should have done this sooner, the STI is far superior to the WRX.

My brother works at a dealership (albeit Nissan) and they are still open and are definitely looking to make deals. Now's as good a time as any I'd say. Also, it seems like the used market is pretty good now too. A lot of people with extra cars are selling them now for some extra money.

Here in Phila. I don't think I'll get anything less than 35k for base STI.
Just replaced my clutch on my original 2005 wrx. Almost 16 years old.
I don't want to get rid of it. But I'm really thinking of a new STI.

Do you guys think the limited is worth it. (Upgraded stereo, seats, sunroof?)

How do you get $1000 loyalty? Is it from Subaru or the dealer?

Yeah. People are still buying STIs around here. Most dealers are down to one or nothing left of the STIs.

Here in the northeast I am consistently being quoted low 40xxxor high 39xxx for limiteds with MSRP around 43,000. Has anyone here been able to crack into the 38s?

Quirk Subaru in Braintree MA is advertising prices in the $38s on their website for Limited models. I've never done business with them and not sure if that price has any conditions attached to it but it seems like you can get sub-$39k.

They pissed me off when I spoke via ethernets and phone to schedule a test drive for a '17 Base Impreza. I showed up and received the ol' bait and switch, "Oh, what you saw online for our inventory isn't here and is likely on the next truck. We don't have the 10 base models you saw online. We DO have Sports and Limited, if you'd like to take a test drive!"

I gladly test-drove the SPORT MT for a good amount of time. When we got back he gave me the ol', "what monthly payment would get you into this car TODAY!?" I said, "no thanks, ya lost my business when you lied about having a base model ready for me to test drive."

Now that wouldn't put me off from buying from them in the future; I don't hold a grudge. It just left a bad taste in my mouth, since I've been to a few other Subaru dealers that didn't employ such sleezy tactics.

Dropped off my outback at the dealer today and I was talking to the service guy. He said they sold their last two STIs this past weekend. Internet prices were just over $41K. One was a series white. Who knows what the final sales prices were though.

That's actually a good deal in my opinion. I wonder if dealers here in SoCal can offer that same price.

Also, I was "inspired" by this thread here so I have been browsing deals, to my gf's chagrin, and had trouble telling the differences between the base and limited model. It seems to me that the limited model has the moonroof and better sound system, which comes out to about 41600 vs. the base at 36500 or so. Is that a correct assessment or am I missing something?

It is called a Goodwill Owner Loyalty Incentive that is paid directly by Subaru.

Extra $1000 off from Subaru on top of what you negotiate with the dealer.

I'm on my 10th new WRX/STI, so... Subaru is extra nice to me.

HOWEVER, it is really easy to get the $500 off Subaru Ambassador coupon if you know where to poke.

Thanks, just curious I had never heard $1000 loyalty, but I could see it being something special for very loyal customers. I am an ambassador so if I donít buy them too quickly theyíll give me the $500 every time heh. Weíre on our 4th but still have 3 of them.
