Default Mechanix gloves?

True story:

My Lieutenant goes to the AutoZone in Manassas today to get a gasket for his truck, & to pick up some of the Mechanix Impact or Impact II gloves for me in size small. He says that he got his (size large) for around $22. When he asks about them, the lady behind the counter looks at him kind of funny, and says "Don't you think that's a little too small for you?" He replies, "They aren't for me." She then says, "Well, we don't carry the smalls here...not many women work on cars."

So...I'm in need of a place locally, or online, that I can order the gloves in size small. All of the places I have seen them online are charging atleast $35, & often more for them. And the ones who sell the gloves for less, don't carry them in the size I need.

Either these:
http://www.mechanix.com/detail.asp?product_id=MMP

Or these:
http://www.mechanix.com/detail.asp?product_id=MP2

Thanks,
Greg

the gloves that Sears (Craftsman) carries are nearly identical to the Mechanix gloves and they DO keep smalls in stock. Beware - they fit a little tight. Try them on before you buy.

I'm not sure if craftsman has an equivalent glove to the Impact though.

I really LOVE my impacts. They have relatively great dexterity. Whatever you do - don't get the ez-on-ez-off gloves with the large elastic wrist parts. They really get in the way badly.

Yeah, I've worn the Impacts, & the mediums were just to big for me. They left too much room @ the fingertips & made it difficult to grasp or pick up small objects. Also, the problem I'm having is not finding the gloves, it's finding them in size small. I'll look into Sears also.

HAHAHAHAHAHHA you got called a woman! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

anyways, I have the impact 2's in large.... after a few motor swaps and tranny installs they have a few rips in them. but then again I got them on sale for $18, so they are cheap to replace.

I've had a couple of pairs of mechanix gloves over the years... if you can find a decent price on them, kevlar gloves are really nice too. Seem to have better feel to me than the mechanix gloves.
