Heh.

Um, I can do about 8 pull ups / 100 push ups / run a few miles. My core is severely lacking, though.

I'm going to get murdered, aren't I?

Im going to start on some of the excercises you can do at home. But does anyone recommend any lifting regiments for a starter? I have never lifted really but have decent upper body strength. Im going to need a scaled suggestion. I know the 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 to start out. But is that 1 rep, 7 sets of lifting excercises like curls. Then repeat the 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 for say triceps? Is there a specific order of lifting excercises/motions I should be doing?

Sorry for the super noob questions. Ive never really worked out hardcore or had a set regiment due to hardcore asthma I used to have. Its since gotten way better than when I was a kid, but still there. I still play soccer, go jogging, etc. But I NEED something more. I read through a whole bunch of pages, but wasnt able to get through all 93 lol. HELP! Thanks!

What coop said. Just do it. I was in the worst shape in my life when I started. Heaviest I've ever been and realized I needed to do something about it. I couldn't run 200M without stopping and gasping for air when I started. I recently ran a 8:20 mile. Couldn't do a pull up to save my life. Now I can do a dead hang pull up. It's taken me 5 months to get to this point but I'm seeing results. This is the most supportive community you will ever encounter. No one will ever make fun of you for your condition or abilities.

Been laying down with ice packs wrapped on my shins for the last 30 minutes. Today was the most painful they've ever been.

Tonight we did:
100 double unders OR 300 singles
75 sit-ups
50 push-ups
25 box jumps (24")
15 kb swings (35 LB)
5 cleans (95 LB)

My time was 14:26 which was right in the middle of everyone else. The jumping rope slowed me down big time due to my shins feeling like they were on fire.

A guy at our gym did 37 rounds of Chelsea today (EMOTM 5 pullups, 10 pushups and 15 air squats). 30 rounds was supposed to be the max, but they let him keep going.

So I did one round of baseline in 8:28 as my intro. Felt like collapsing afterward but I feel amazing now.

Signed up for a 3 month commitment.

You'll love it.

It's basically:

Just know your limits for the first month. Don't go too heavy on the weights, really try to nail down your form on the major lifts. the weight will come.

WhitFit!

Well, I met Fran yesterday. Went 65#, was thinking 75#, but the coach said to go lighter and faster.

Did my 21 thrusters in 15/6, my pullups kipping in groups of 5, and finished in 6:26. We had a 12 minute cap, but I think I could have gone 75# around 10min. Next time....muahahaha

I did it at 5:30pm, then at 5:30am I went back. Mobility was 10 min squat test...and today's wod was a partner 5k row. My legs are jelly.

last night was horrible:
10rds
10x thrusters
10x ring pushup

it sucked.. I did the girly RX and still was pretty sure I wanted to die in the 4th round. ring pushups were killing me, kept falling right through it at the end.. the thrusters I could at least get sets of 5 out of.

Fran is deceptively killer. I did it once Rx in 5:58. I couldn't get up for 15 minutes. Then I drove home and sat on the couch and it was a solid 90 minutes total before I felt like myself. Remember it's supposed to be an anaerobic blast, so keeping the weight around where you have to keep the time sub 8-10 minutes is probably better than slogging through an 18 minute Fran to get the weight higher.

I haven't done Fran yet. Last night's workout (that Fish posted) was good practice for the thrusters, which are going to be my weakness. I can do 21 kipping pull ups unbroken. If I could master the butterfly more consistently I'd get faster. Looking forward to trying Fran soon.

Today was one of my favorites to hate:

Quote:
“The Bear Complex”

7 Sets of the sequence:
Power clean
Front squat
Push press
Back Squat
Push press

You are not allowed to put the bar down during your 7 sets, only between rounds. If you must rest, you can rest the bar on your back, front, in a squat, etc. as long as you are supporting the weight and it isn't touching the ground.

5 Rounds

Rest as needed between rounds.
There isn't really a Rx weight...most say 135 is "impressive". I do it at 85lbs and I'm dying. That's technically 35 of EACH of those exercises above...which doesn't sound so horrible until you realize how it is setup and the caveat about not putting it down during your sets.

Here's to not walking this weekend.
