As usual I am happy with the guys at IAG! I had Swift Spec-R springs installed a few months back and just had my TurboXS Catted Turboback exhaust system installed this week. They did a great job as usual, thanks guys!

Wagon... It is definitely A LOT louder than stock, thats for sure! Once it warms up it's fairly quiet at idle but when you're on the gas you KNOW it's there. At first I was like "holy crap" and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. It's growing on me. I'm going to leave it on for a few months to see if it mellows out some once I get a few thousands miles on it. I don't mind it, but the wife hasn't been for a ride with the new exhaust yet so we'll see what she says haha. I actually had my 2 month old daughter with me when I got it installed. She didn't have any problems sleeping on the hour long car ride home so I guess it's not that bad . It's definitely a different experience from when I had a Perrin Catback on my Evo X.

I have been talking with IAG for a bit now about a small build I am wanting to do. I was wondering though if anybody has any sound clips of their UEL header setup. I can't find one to save my life. Thanks!

My journal: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-membe...seracecar.html

I've been going to IAG for the past 4 years. They made a masterpiece of a V-band rotated 35R kit (430whp with meth) which I ran for 45,000 miles on the stock motor and on Jorge's stellar tune. After those miles, the stock motor was pulled and the pistons were visually flawless. Now I was bored with the power and got an IAG fully built longblock put in and a whole slew of performance mods.

What can I say, there is no other Subaru shop out there that I trust more than IAG. JJ runs that place like a doctor's clinic. The attentiveness to detail, their professionalism, work ethic, the pride they take in their custom work, punctuality (IAG has the man power and enough skilled technicians to get the job done on time unlike smaller shops out there!), and outstanding customer service puts them at the pinnacle of performance shops and an archetype of how any business should operate. They establish great rapport and trust within their customers which is why I've entrusted them to build, install, and tune my new setup.

Without further ado:

300wtq at 3.6 rpms with all this headwork
The midrange and vast area underneath the curve makes daily driving ridiculously exhilarating The stock intake manifold and street friendly 272s were left on for that purpose instead of going with Cosworth IM and 280s. The 50/50 meth is mainly for detonation suppression by equalizing the variances in quality of 93 octane we get around here. Meth was also used to accentuate the spool and midrange gains which is where I'm at most of the time. Conversely, I didn't want to go all out with meth at the top rpm ranges for safety which is why boost was tapered and I shift at 7k anyways. Furthermore, less emphasis was placed on the rpm band >7000 rpms (not a quarter mile drag car) because there are no permissible roads to do 140mph pulls on my daily commute lol

with gas mileage better than a Prius

and I pull on them too
****in surgical welds

Driving impressions:
1. The car is at least logarithmicaly 2 decibels louder in the exhaust, EWG, turbo spool (sounds ungodly now). The airflow from the big heads makes these components singggggggggg

2. The lope makes my car sound like it has UEL again

3. The car drives around town at partial throttle like stock even with the 2000cc injectors and aeromotive fuel components. Gotta thank Jorge for that!

The car shakes at idle with every lope What have I done to my DD?! I LOVE IT. I thought 400awhp was a handful but 500 to all 4 wheels on public roads + traction is downright terrifying. I'm finding myself a lot more judicious on the throttle now because the next thing I know I might end up in a ditch and yes the dash cam will capture that moment. Straight roads with great visibility that I casually did 400whp pulls on can barely contain 500whp safely. The DMV area has too much traffic for this motor to truly stretch it's legs. It will take some time for me to harness all this unbridled power...This car is a completely different animal from the stock motor 35R setup I've become so accustomed to driving for the past 3 years.

Dyno graph comparison (stock heads vs. IAG built heads, 272s) to illustrate how much IAG Stage V heads flow; no confounding variables because boost was kept the same as well as the turbo and all other parts of my setup.

Like anyone has to tout IAG's customer service, but today, I went to drop my WRX off so it could get an oil change and have a suspension noise checked out before my big autocross this weekend. I ended up leaving with my WRX... because the alternator on my boyfriend slowWS6's F150 Lightning decided to take a dump right then. JJ himself came out to jump the truck and check the alternator function, despite the frantic preparations for OC AWD going on. While I wish I could have left both vehicles there, IAG will take care of the Lightning for us, even though it's not a Subaru. Such a class act! Thanks, guys!!!!

Almost sounds like J.J. is avoiding the OC preparations. Just the other day he caught me on Facebook complaining that I lost my keys, and had a new key cut for me on the spot.

GET BACK TO WORK, J.J.

My IAG experience thus far....
I have owned two subarus. The first, a base 2008 SWP WRX.
IAG installed everything that I didn't trust myself to install. Ended up having Jorge protune my 08 with the vf 52 swap. I was extremely happy with the results... 296 awhp 340fttq on one of the hottest/humid days that summer!
I traded off that car for a 5.0 mustang. had about a year until I was smart enough to get myself into a 2011 STI. Since I had done the Subaru thing before, stg 2 was easy and I was used to using an AP and liked the idea of continuing modding my STI.
A few weeks ago, I blew a hole in my motor. I called up Rick at IAG Performance and have spoken with him enough in the last few weeks, I should probably have him on speed dial. haha. But he never hesitates to give you his honest opinion about something. I never felt pressured into doing anything I didn't want to do. I did have a budget when building my 2011 STI and Rick was able to work with me in keeping things within my budget. We talked about many build options. Modifications that I NEEDED, and modifications that were optional in doing or not doing to save money. Needless to say I am pretty damn close to sitting in my built 2011 STI and cannot wait to break it in for another Protune by Jorge ( which I already have scheduled)
Artie- I owe this guy a special thanks as well. He built my motor! I showed up one evening around 6pm as Artie was getting off of work. He had his motorcycle helmet and was ready to head out the door until Rick had told him I stopped by. He graciously showed me around the shop, showed me my old block, my new one, all my cam gears, clutch, turbo, everything. I thank him for that and It is nice when you spend a lot of money on something, to be satisfied. I left there with a big smile on my face, pumped to come back and pick up my car completed.
Also, for anyone who has not been to IAG... I highly suggest it.
Their shop is clean, neat, organized, has a pretty chill lounge area which ive spent a couple hours in before :P IF you have any questions about anything... call them!!

Ask for Rick or JJ, both very knowledgeable and willing to help you out!

To follow up with my previous post.
I picked my car up this evening. It is exactly as I expected it to be. Rick did a great job of letting me know what I need to do as far as break-in goes. Walked me through everything I needed to do in the coming weeks as far as maintenance, break-in, tuning etc. I put about 75 miles on the car this evening just putting around. It drives great. I am ecstatic to be back in my Subaru.
Already scheduled my protune session with Jorge in a few weeks. I can't wait!!!

I owe a huge thanks to Rick and Artie for their hours of hard work and commitment. Mike did an excellent job in fixing a dent on my car. JJ for the awesome shop that he runs. Aaron and Drew for the countless phone calls and questions I had for them! Thank you all for your help in getting me my baby back.

/e 350 Miles and counting on my new IAG built short block. No CEL's or any problems thus far! Cant wait to get back in and get Jorge to tune... ughhh so excited!

To all nasioc readers. If you live anywhere near Westmisnter Maryland. IAG Performance is the place to take your car! I assure you that they will take much better care of your car then you can. Their prices are competitive, their staff is competent, and they are friendly and honest.

I sent you guys and email, but I thought I'd post here as well.

Had the fenders rolled at your place (along with some other work) about a month back.

Yesterday discovered that the bumper on the passenger's side had come off from where the bumper meets the fender closest to the wheel. There is a big plastic tab there.

I could not get the bumper and tab to stay in place so I took it to the dealer. Tech asked if they were rolled, and said that the fenders were rolled too far out and put too much stress on that tab.

I'm skeptical about what he said since it seems like there are plenty of these cars with fender work that are fine.

Any thoughts? Have you had this happen before after rolling the fronts? What are my options? Replace that whole plastic tab section (part# 57707FG132) under the headlight and hope it holds? Can the fender lip be "pushed back in" a little?

Shouldn't be a big deal...With fender pulls sometimes this happens, and we should be able to take care of it no problem. That being said, I didn't actually see an email come through... Can you email [email protected] or call at the shop (410-840-3555) - We'd be happy to get you set up to swing in and have it taken care of!

Sent you a PM as well.

Rick

I posted this in the classifieds under IAG's Storefront but thought it would be fitting to post it here as well...

Based on nothing but great reviews I read here and on IWSTI, a couple of weeks ago I made my first trip out to IAG Performance to get my windows tinted and have nothing but good things to say about my experience. I took my '13 STI Sedan in and they explained their process and made sure I knew that they could only guarantee 50% tint to be legal in MD but 40% should pass depending on the who measured the tint, I took that under advisement and ended up going 40%. It only took them about an hour and a half to finish it, called me right when it was done and I went back to pick it up. I had a great talk with Rick about my future plans for the car, didn't feed me any BS at all and he took me through the shop to see what they have going on.

Also, when I showed up I explained to them that I had some paint splatter all over the driver's side of my car and they offered to take a look. Mike from their collision center looked at it and walked me through what it really was, some sort of chemical that ate away the clear coat and the paint. FML. He suggested going through the insurance company because it's going to take a lot of work to fix it, i.e. completely repaint the hood, front and rear bumpers, and pretty much the entire driver's side of the car.

All in all it was a great experience, they know what they're doing there, didn't try to feed me any BS or sell me all kinds of parts, the shop was clean and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though it's about an hour drive for me, I will definitely be giving them my business from here on out and I would recommend the same to anyone in the MD, VA, PA, DC area if you're willing to make the drive, it's more than worth it! Thanks IAG!

Default Suspension and Protune @ IAG

IAG had come highly recommended by people in the forums, as well as word of mouth at local meets and such, so I decided that when the day came to get pro work done on the STi, IAG would be the place I went... and I am happy to report that these guys lived up to their reputation!!!

Back at the end of July I started talking with Aaron about having the GTWorx Bilstein Sport Cup + RCE Blacks installed, as well as getting Protuned by Jorge. Aaron dutifully answered all of my questions, from the mundane to the obsessive, and made sure that I was kept in the loop every step of the way. The communication was on-point, which is a HUGE HUGE thing for me. I never had to call or track down someone to get answers.

The suspension install + pre-dyno inspection occurred on the same day 1 week before the Protune, and it was flawless. The Bilsteins + Blacks have transformed the car, and I couldn't be happier.. or so I thought! The Protune session with Jorge was comparable to an elite Dr. performing a surgery on a patient... from start to finish, nothing but thoughtful, no-bull**** communication as the car went 'under the knife'. The result: my car is COMPLETELY transformed, I never imagined the STi could feel this refined and awesome! Like Adrian Peterson: fast before the ACL repair, demonically fast after

Overall, everything was quality, from the level of customer service and courtesy, the cleanliness and tech of your facility, and most importantly, the results. The car handles amazingly well after the suspension install, and the tune by Jorge this past weekend... I am simply floored by how AMAZING the car feels now! The power delivery is so sublime and understated, that I often am caught off guard by just how rapidly the car accelerated without drama or struggle. This is EXACTLY how I wanted this STi to feel and handle, so mission accomplished! Thanks to IAG and Jorge!

There have been many positive for reviews about IAG in these forums, but I wanted to add my own personal experience with them because I think great service always deserves to recognized.

I have an 06 STi that was basically stock until the beginning of 2012 when I decided to throw on an Invidia dp and flash Cobb AP Stage 2. About 100 miles or so after going Stage 2, I began seeing large clouds of smoke from the exhaust. Figuring it was either engine or turbo problems, I went to a few different shops (which will not be named) in the SE PA area. I had one shop tell me everything was fine and I had nothing to worry about. I had another shop tell me my compression was ultra low and I needed a new engine right away. Another one ruined my wheels when mounting tires so I didn't even bother asking for engine work. It was very frustrating, since no shop wanted to take my issue seriously. I've owned the car since 06 and had very few positive experiences with shops in that timeframe.

Being that I live 2.5 hours from IAG Performance, it took awhile before I decided I would look into bringing my car down. When I contacted IAG the first time, I could tell right away they were true professionals that really wanted to help take care of your issues. Rick and I exchanged several emails going over what was going on with my car. Unfortunately after that initial exchange, due to time constraints, I didn't get to bring my car in for service for almost a year.

When I finally got to bring my car down, Drew helped me out with my plans and kept me posted on what was going on. They were able to diagnose it as a turbo problem and gave me recommendations on possible options for repair. During this time I created a misunderstanding that gave IAG every right to be upset with my requests, however Drew was totally a class act and was very patient with my indecisiveness, and was willing to work with me. Rick and Drew gave me a realistic view of what to do with the car, and eventually I decided to just keep the car as a Stage 2 Cobb AP setup until I could figure out a concrete build plan.

Thanks to IAG, my car is a pleasure to drive again. I can say it was definitely worth the drive, and I'll be bringing my car there again for any future work (hopefully a paint job next Spring!).

I think it goes without saying at this point, but IAG consistently provides outstanding customer service and technical expertise. I picked up my FXT bone stock in 2011, and over the past two years the guys at IAG have helped transform it into a quick, reliable car that gets a lot of attention on the street. In my dealings with Rick, Drew, JJ, and recently Jorge they've all proven to be knowledgeable professionals who were happy to answer questions even for my relatively straightforward VF48 build. Mike in the body shop does great work too, you'd never know a deer T-boned me on 140 right outside the shop

To preface here is a brief history of my car:

15,000 miles to 60,000 miles running the IAG rotated kit/meth with a tune from Jorge (>400whp) on a daily driven stock motor, pistons were perfect on teardown

60,000 miles to 85,000 miles running IAG built longblock with a tune from Jorge (>500whp) daily driven, zero oil consumption.

I’ve put 25k miles on my IAG built longblock and way past their warranty period of 1year/12k miles I am going to venture to say not any shop can build a reliable, 500whp daily driven Subaru. It is incumbent on a shop to have years of experience and exacting attention to detail and a meritorious tuner with peerless acumen pertaining to his craft to account for the dizzying array of factors that is inherent in building a highly modded Subaru. Going the path of finding a place to build a motor, another place to install the motor, and another place to tune the motor makes for a tenuous prospect of having a long lasting build. The shop and the tuner have to function as a cohesive whole to make projects like these successful. IAG and Jorge is like Brady/Belichick, love or hate them, you gotta respect them If I ever move out of the DMV area, I will always send my car or future projects to IAG because they get **** done right. Think of them as the Johns Hopkins of the Subaru world (both are in Maryland, coincidence? I don’t think so).

Oh yeah what’s it like DD a 500whp Subaru? I sure as hell get to work a lot quicker and it is ****ing invigorating like snorting 8-ball of cocaine in the morning.

Performance shops can always put out big powered builds that later turn out to be mercurial and volatile which then flicker and die away. What truly cements a shop's legacy and speaks volumes to their expertise is churning out crazy builds that last and with a warranty they stand by.

Bumping this. I recently had my autocross car tuned by Jorge and I didn't post a review after the fender rolling/pulling done in November, so I wanted to do that now.

Rick at IAG did everything he could to work my car into their schedule for a 93 octane/e85 tuning session with Jorge less than two weeks prior to the tune date. We were thrilled with the tunes - results here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...4#post41537904

Everyone we've met - Rick, JJ, Drew, Jorge - have always been a pleasure to work with and provide top-notch customer service. They're happy to advise on modifications or builds and have pointed my husband and I in the right direction on several occasions. We always feel welcomed and confident in their work and advice.

In November they pulled and rolled the car's fenders. We went with a very aggressive fitment for autocross and despite their warnings that paint could crack, etc., the job turned out fantastic. We've gotten a lot of compliments on the work done and most can't even tell the fenders were modified.

^^Nice numbers! About 100whp gain over stock without e-85 is pretty decent for those mods. Especially since Jorge is usually on the conservative side but I assume since your using this for autox he probably wasn't as conservative. It's ashame your not allowed to upgrade the turbo.
