hey all, new to the forums, got a 04 wrx wagon
been driving my wagon now for 2 months (2004 wrx 2L.) and ready for mods. i want to go with the espilir catback exhaust and some type of uppipe. oh yeah, it's a manual tranny, my 1st maunual car. I'd like to hear evryones thoughts on my choice of exhaust, and looking at maybe helix uppipe and downpipe? I would like to keep one cat to pass state safety check law, but it's not set in stone. Oh yeah, i live in hawaii, so all you subie people here in the 808, give me a shout. I'd like to hear what you guys have installed, and stuff. thanks forum members!!

Sorry I can't be very helpful about the exhaust questions as I have not done any of that yet. However, congrats on the car. Enjoy!

unabomber, or faq master, i read your faq sections. thanks, very helpful. I was looking for increases in mpg (better gas mileage) on aftermarket exhausts, and so far i have come across aeroturbine as the only company to back up an actual increase in mpg. Do all company's actually increase mpg?? I don't really care, but the wifey was interested in a muffler that could be on the quieter side, and a side benefit was the increase in mpg. Thanks!!

The Aeroturbine is red herring at best. With every modification I have done, the MPG has stayed the same or increased very slightly. No mod will give you a realistic or quantitative MPG improvement, except driving like a 90 year old lady.

Just joined; first post. I've had a TurboXS 3 inch Turbo back exhaust with the high-flow cat and four inch down pipe in my 02 Wagon for a little over a year now. Even the guys at the dealership like the sound. Low and throaty (for a four cylinder), and doesn't sound like the "squirting farts" heard with some of the other systems. I've been pleased.
