"I noticed that when you got your keys back, you walked out to your car and looked all around it." reply 'yes'. "I couldn't help but notice that when you dropped it off, you didn't do that. You shut your door and walked right in without even the slightest glance at your paint job. When was the last time you looked carefully at your car? Have you been to the grocery store since then? the mall maybe?" But yes. Everyone tries to blame their mechanic for everything that happens to their car and if your mechanic notices a safety item (i.e. sharty brakes) and doesn't say anything to the customer, the mechanic can be held liable if something bad happens. |

Nothing really, haven't gotten many winners lately, just a bunch of slightly dented wheels.
I did buy a $300 95 Volvo 850 for a friend about a week ago, and the right rear parking brake was locked up. I drove it home that way, it made a lot of noise then the rust broke free and the wheel started spinning again (after inspecting it someone had adjusted the shoes waaaaaay out), exhaust is missing a 3inch chunk due to rust and the headliner looks like a circus tent. For $300 though it was a good find. ~Evil Last edited by EvileyeZ88; 11-14-2012 at 09:52 AM. |

Customer comes to pickup her car after state inspection.
"Your car passed but your brake pads are getting a little low" Her: what's that mean? Me: "it just means in the near future you're going to want to have new pads put on" Her: " why"? "They are a wear item, and you need them to stop the car" Her: "oh" Oh lord college girls |

Okay I got one
Customer comes in pissed off that since we worked on her car that her door locks won't work. I assumed that meant we worked on maybe something in the door panel. So I go in and look at her history and find all we did was a tune up (spark plugs, plugs etc)... She was convinced that a tune up related to her door lock breaking on a 12 year old car |

You touched the car last, therefore it's your fault. Same thing with any repair industry
I feel bad for the guys who do stereo installs. "You installed a stereo and now my head gasket blew!" |

I installed a battery in a 2007 Audi A4 Convertible on Monday, towards the end of the night. The customer came back in yesterday saying that her key fob didn't work now...
So my boss come out to me, ranting and raving... Blah blah blah. Since it is plausible that the ECM lost the fob programming during the battery install I figured, sure... Let's have a look. I didn't even make it out the door of the shop. I pressed the lock and unlock buttons on the fob and watched the lights on the car blink. Turned and looked at my boss and said, Huh... imagine that! Then handed him back the keys and walked away. |
