Default Quick question about H6 rotors and brake pads

MY05 WRX. Going to get OE H6 rear rotors. I've already got the caliper brackets from subarugenuineparts. I just wanted to make sure on what kind of pad I needed. I remember reading that I needed 02/03 style rear pads? Do I just need regular 05 WRX rear pads? Thanks.

Not with the typical H6 rear bracket, you need the 02/03 pads. Online I've seen Racing Brake H6 brackets designed to use the newer style pads, but never in person.

The pad depends on the bracket used. The ones generally used are build to hold the older style D770 pads. There are newer style brackets available that use the newer D1004 pads, but it's not the common one bought. The D770 is the 02 WRX pad type. The Subaru Genuine Parts bracket is the older D770 style.

they are all pretty much the same..

iirc, its just slight changes in the "tab" on each end of the pad..

many of us have had the same set-up on our cars for many many trouble free (track) miles

ok. I'm looking at Hawk's webiste for applications, and there is no D770 for the 02 WRX. It's 7637, HPS part #434F.543. That the one?

Yes. D770 is the FMSI standard number for that blacking plate. Hawk just has their own numbering system. Axxis/PBR, on the other hand, does actually use the FMSI numbers.
