Default FS: cracked Borla 2.5rs headers

Yeah so I cracked my Borlas somehow. The crack is straight through at the main collector. They are obviously off the car and I really dont want to mess with them. So if anyone who welds/ knows someone who welds can have them for cheap or just take it to any basic exhaust shop , most can probably do it for like 10-20 bucks since they arent on the car. They actually have an 02 bung and an egt bung welded in. I paid like 175 plus shipping for them. So I guess I'm looking to get like 100 bucks for them. Price is ofcourse negotiable so offer me anything really. Pics can be provided upon request.

Oh these are one of the newer gen borlas AFAIK. And they should fit on any scooby with a 2.5rs in it. I had it on my 05 2.5s , previous owner had them on the classic Impreza.

Thanks,

Ark

They have a lifetime warranty. Why not take them to the shop you bought them from and have them replaired/replaced by Borla?

I actually bought them second hand and AFAIK the warranty is non-transferable. That and I really just dont want them anymore. I change my mind too quickly about the rice I buy. At one point I had the borlas , a set of Obx's and an Apexi n1. Now I dont really want anything exhaust wise for the Subaru. I wanna throw more money into my rx7 so Id rather just let these go and not bother with them.

To potential buyers:

Other than them cracking, they are nice. I do miss the midrange they provided and that was with the stock catback and midsection , cat. There was less hesitation and without them my car is damn slow

Warranty is somewhat lame on the borlas btw, they fix it everytime it cracks but you have to pay to ship the honking thing to them
This is probably a better deal, just have some local fix this one up and your better than new

Yeah its not a problem to get it fixed , my friend Mig's and Tig's. I just really dont want to bother anymore , like I dont want them and I'd enjoy the monies more.

I'm sure even Meineki would be able to weld it back up for like 20 bucks. They are off the car so there should be 0 zero hassle with it.

You can see the o2 bung and the egt , they were welded up by the previous owner but can be used if wanted by the new buyer.

Really want this gone , willing to take reasonable offers for it!

I guess but then again , its not exactly a straight break , so you can basically just connect it like a puzzle and tack it then weld it back up.

Like I said the reason I'm selling is because my stockies are back on and these have no use for me and I'm too lazy to swap them back in even though my friend can easily weld them up.

Is my asking price too much because I am open to offers , I just want these gone!

Cool Joe, I'm thinking these would be nice for my new RS. Im pretty sure I can get someone to weld them. But there is a lot of rust around certain spots, is this normal and not going to be an issue?

Hill could weld it. The Borla's are made of mild-steel so surface rust is to be expected. I wound up painting my Borla high temp flat black to help prevent rusting.

Yeah all that stuff is really surface rust. Also if someone is willing to throw me a hundred bucks for it , I can throw in a half a roll of nice exhaust wrap. That should be enough to wrap up the whole header. I had a set of the equal-length OBX's that I wrapped before I sold them and I'm pretty sure I ended up using less than half and those were obviously longer. As far as the surface rust goes, I have a bunch of por15 and the rust cleaner/treater laying around so I can clean them up and make them look good as new, although I wont paint them with por15 just because its not made to handle high temp stuff.

So yeah 100 bucks all cleaned up with a good amount of exhaust wrap.

And I'm willing to meet up in the PA, NJ, DE, northern MD area unless the buyer wants to pay shipping.

Thanks,

Ark

Sounds good, I'm actually going to be in Maryland this sunday, selling some rx7 stuff. Me and guy are meeting up at the Chesapeake Bay Rest Stop, Im pretty sure thats where me and Joe met and he bought my exhaust. So if you can meet me at that point it would be perfect, if not then we can schedule some other time.

Thanks,

Ark
