412.7 wheel HP on stock sti 2.0 litre - No NOS - new record at Pruven Performance !
Finally got the new set up with 650 injectors and bigger fuel pump and LINK onto the now famous Pruven Performance 4 wheel dyno tonight (www.pruvenperformance.com)
412.7 wheel hp on unleaded pump gas and NO NOS at 26.0 psi of boost I did not have much time on the dyno and ran into a few delays trying to learn tuning the LINK so I was not able to finish the A/F curve and could not even start to play with the timing so I think the results are amazing considering my A/F ratios were far below 11.0 / 1 and the timing was very conservative I think this set up has 440 HP in it at 26.0 psi of boost - - next week or so I'll come back and see how much further I can push it I think this is an amazing result - because the entire engine has never been opened up and is bone stock Subaru STI (Note ** The AVCS is currently disabled and non-operational) Interestingly - my Greddy ProfecB boost controller was MAXED out all the way on full boost - but it only goes up to 26.00 psi so that was the most I could go to on boost Finally my fuel pressure stayed solid all the way to red line and there was no fall off on pressure with my new dash 6 fuel line and super big fuel pump Also very good that finally the A/F curve was staying even and steady all the way to red line - no more rising up lean over 7,000 Big thanks to Forced Performance for the amazing GT30 Garret turbo ; Pruven Performance for the fantastic fmic, custom upipe and down pipe and for countless hours of guidance and wisdom and also to the LINK for releasing me from the stock MAF and the stock pressure sensor so I could finally get up over 22 psi

Congrats Al on the good numbers.
Any plans on putting a cage in, as you still use the car as a daily driver, no? -Matt W&L Subaru |

Hi Al congratulations once again, you deserve it !
Al since the AVCS is disabled right now could you please tell me if you have noticed any differences with engine idle or anything else for that matter. I believe you had the AVCS functioning prior to the Link install didn't you ? It would seem from your dyno results that the power output has not suffered any without the AVCS activated. Take care, Tom.. |

The biggest difference when you have the AVCS disconnected is the spool up The AVCS really helps the 3500 - 4500 area big time - - the car spools so hard at that point with the AVCS that you get uncontrollable boost spikes with the vf30 on there As for the 5,500 and above area of the dyno sheet the AVCS is pretty much fully disablaed in that part of the curve so thats why my peak numbers are pretty much the same even with it unplugged Obviously - I am really looking forward to the release of the LINK with AVCS for the STI - - the AVCS really is a big help to the spool up and diveability - - espacially when you are using big turbos One more thing I miss is that STI V8 ecu - - the sti guys sure know how to cut a mean tune - - IF I was staying below 22 psi that would still be my set up - - but when you go over 22 psi you need to loose the stock MAF and pressure sensors and go with the GM 3 bar map What can I say - its just a nice dependable 4 wheel drive daily driving 400 wheel hp car! |

I am trying to make my car an all around daily driving rocket ship If I wanted to risk blowing stuff up I might have hit the button with my current set up - but first I have to get everthing tuned to perfection then I can play with my little blue bottle I am confident that i can break the record for the fatsest new age of all time by the end of the year with a nice mid 10 run on the bottle - - but in the meantime high 11 without NOS and on pump gas would be very nice for me |

CT is a great place for fast cars ! I'd hate to be stuck with 91 octane ! I remember when i drove my M5 BMW all the way through Mexico with my trunk filled with octane booster - what a pain (they only had 89 octane) of course - if you want to get serious you can get the c16 leaded 117 octane fuel out of the barrel - I never was able to get ANY detonation on C-16 - ever the dyno shop really wanted me to run the C16 - but i wanted to tune it on what I run everyday from the pump I slowly rasised the boost a little at a time - click by click - all the while watching the knock link - egt's and the LINK knock count and wideband a/f -- this car likes this high HP level more than my stock injector WRX did the 270 hp level ! Its amazing - when you supply huge amounts of fuel and keep the injector duty cycles down in reason - - the detonation stays away ! BTW - - I NEVER said that my relentless pursuit of Subaru performance was sane in any respect ! I wanted to crack 400 wheel HP and wanted to do it on the gas I run everyday ! PS - i noticed that the dyno loads my car differntly than on the road - - my fuel pressure was rock solid with the old pump and - 6 line on the dyno - - but then on the road later I saw that the fuel pressure would fall off on top (now with the HKS pump the pressure is rock solid no matter how long the pull lasts - even up long uphils ) The pulls I make on the road last longer in time I dont think I will run the 26 psi on the street in 5th gear |
