Will Koni Yellows on Stock springs lower my car..
Hello,
I have an 02 Sedan and I am adding Koni Yellows.. I am looking for something more aggressive, as I am young and like to AutoX, Trackdays and in general drive aggressively.. I am adding Koni Yellows and Progressive Front Sway, and I am wondering if anyone has done a similiar setup with stock springs.. I am looking to stay in the SCCA Stock class, so I can only do Shocks, Front Sway (NO Endlinks), Brake Pads, Cage, Harnesses, Tires.. With this in mind, please don't tell me to get coilovers and a big turbo, 17 inch rims, etc.. Also, any thoughts on the best Brake pads out there?? I was thinking Hawk, but I had Pagid Blues on my M3 and was quite impressed.. Is 22m adj Front Sway going to make a difference?? Thanks, Ron 863-221-8534

For autocross, it's pretty tough to fade the stock brakes. I did it once at a school where I got a crazy number of runs, but that's about it. Since the FSB is the only way you're allowed to limit body roll, I'd go for the biggest one I could find. The Stranosports hollow 32 mm swaybar might fit sedans. Otherwise, Whiteline has one that goes up to 27 mm.

I'm assuming you mean the Koni yellow single-adjustable inserts. No, they will not lower your car.
I just put them in my car with stock springs, and they do help tame the out of control body roll that you get with the stock shocks. I haven't run an auto-x yet, but I'm running STX and also have Cobb F & R sways. |

Unless I'm badly mistaken, in Stock, you're allowed to change front sway bar and attaching hardware, which includes endlinks, so there's no reason why you could change them if you wanted.
The Strano bar uses completely different endlinks from stock. |

Front endlinks are open in Stock classes, they are basiclly considered part of the fsb, thats why you can't swap the rear endlinks.

And yes, Arnie is on the money. There are days I seriously wish for some stock class understeer and sticky tires as it would just be so dang much simpler. -Biggly |
