Thanks. Too tired to wiki anything.

All around it would be a sweet car. I think it would be even sweeter as an all around car, but I can understand going for strictly drag.

Yes, SVO. It is a 2.3L inline. Pretty stout motor really. Just didn't go over huge with the domestic crowd in the 80's. The T bird Turbo coupe had the same power plant as well as some of the Merkur XR4Ti.

You could get 400hp reliably.

Being a huge fan of both Subies and Mustangs I think this is an awesome project. Practicality is not the reason for this, this is super unique. From my experience on the Mustang boards I have found that a lot of Mustang guys do have respect for Subarus.

XX_chris, have you asked what people on sites like Corral think of this? Id love to see what they are saying about it. Good luck and keep us updated.

I think you should trade me that body for my LX hatch, I want a coupe to drop my 450whp 5.0 in.

Thanks for the comments guys, and wow, ghost, I just posted that on MySpace last night, nice catch... Yes that is the car.

MDRex - I know, the biggest problem I have with this is that it may happen to a notch. I know how much people love a clean notch. We are having a get together today to decide the fate of the car.

Thanks guys

I have been a fox body fan for as long as I can remember. I actually would love to see this. The car would probably be hated by the "American Muscle" guys, but who wants to be like everyone else.

I had a 1989 lx 2.3na that I swapped a 2.3T into it. I had it up par with all the high HP guys on turboford.org but never tuned it and ended up selling it. It was a very fun car and probably the easiest to swap motors I only had to add 1 wire and move 3 on the computer plug. I could have easly made 350+ with my set up. When I dyno with 20psi and full exhast FMIC stock turbo and a few other little things I made 193rwhp and 283rwtq.

100***37; stock right after swap.

new motor with hy35 holset turbo from a dodge cummings diesel

I love Subaru as much as the next guy, but for the life of me dont understand why he would drop that motor into that car (except to be different)

Almost as bad as the guy in another thread getting torn apart for asking about converting to right hand drive!!!
*i think I may vote for the turbo H6 now, although......twin turbo H4 in Fox body could be cool too*

I say put the GTR motor in it. That way the clip of the Moron with the Mustang GTR with the rotary engine and pistons can be laid to rest.LOL

Seriously. If you got the cash and knowhow, take the new 3.6 H6 from a tribeca and twin turbo that sucka.

I like the idea of a light engine with a low center of gravity in a Fox coupe. That is totally the opposite of the stock engine in these cars. Any weight off the front will make the car handle better and help shift the weight to the rear from drag racing. The low CG of the Suby engine will also aid in handling, and any weight loss is always a good thing.

A 2.5L STi motor is good for an easy 500whp, which will def push a stripped Fox coupe down a track very well.

This really is an awful idea. Do any of you realize how wide a Subaru engine is? Where would you mount it, on the front bumper?

P.S. - this is by no means an ad for XXTuning!!!

No chance of this car being done by STI vs. Evo at Englishtown is there?!?!? LOL
You guys going or not?

Do you realize you can drop a big block in a Fox engine bay?

The Suby engine should fit fine in there.

Do it! In true Mustang fashion you should go with a good sized turbo then spray the ba-jesus out of the thing!
