- Removed the shredded remains of exhaust wrap from the single-port UEL header on the beater Impreza. It's a stainless header, so the wrap isn't needed, anyway.
I've been hearing a buzzing/rattling that I was hoping was due to the stainless straps rattling against the header as the wrap fell apart. No such luck - pulled everything off and I still hear the buzzing. Guess I'll have to investigate a bit more thoroughly. |

Spark plugs 2017 WRX. Noticeable difference but the old plugs looked great. Gap was a bit wide and I'm sure that cause the cold idle stumble.

Installed a used turboXS DP, modded blue injectors, aps CAI, and rocksteady flex fuel kit. BTW, found rocksteady’s kit to be a phenomenal value at $250. Customer service was very responsive and personal. Highly recommend Donnie!

Black Saabaru got a UKDM Prodrive gauge cluster.
Desert silver Saabaru is in the process of getting a new rear sway bar, bushings sway bar mounts and endlinks. Broke one bolt due to corrosion. Spent some time drilling the broken bolt. |

What did you really do to your car today? V3.1
Desert silver Aero:
Finished drilling and fixing the threads on the broken bolt for one of the rear sway bar mounts. Installed fresh rust free mounts, hardware, bushings, stock sway bar and endlinks. All replacement parts came of a friend’s 04 wrx sedan with less than 10,000 miles of use, everything is in like new condition. Anti seized all the threads. Feels tighter than before, worth the effort. Last edited by D-Rodman; 07-08-2018 at 10:02 PM. |

New Subaru owner, but I waxed the car for about 5 hours. Clay bar, cleaner wax, glaze sealer, and pure carnauba wax to finish it off.

- Replaced the cruise control actuator on the beater Impreza to restore CC functionality. It's still not quite right - the actuator I installed has a longer cable than the old actuator, so I had to shift the throttle cable bracket to get it to work. I'll have to fiddle with it more later.

Installed v7 seats, BC-ER coilovers, and picked up some new coil packs to replace the ones with 230k miles. Productive day!

Thank you! If interested MD JDM in Beltsville has a few more set. They are good source for well priced JDM and OEM stuff. There is also a place a Arbutus with a full set (front and rear, but not for a wagon).

Installed Ecohitch and towed trailer
Last weekend, I installed an Ecohitch on the STI, put in new turn signal bulbs (PITA) and fixed some rust I found under the battery. Then drove to Atlanta and picked up Dad's old furniture and trailered it back to the DMV in a U-haul 4x8 trailer. No issues towing the trailer, except gas mileage - got better mileage in 5th gear but only 17 versus normal 21 - 22 mpg.

Changed the spark plugs and wires on my Outback yesterday. Much easier on the EJ251 than the EJ255.

Got my intake figured out. It's an eBay intake for a Subaru Baja. Needed something to clear my tubs. Some modifications to it and it fits nicely now.

Last weekend
Used a transport pass to get the 818 to our new house. No mechanical issues, fires, overheating, scraping, odd noises or discussions with the police. That's success by any measure. I do need to get the alignment done as it was road tracking all over the place. I think I'm going to invest in a bumpsteer set up as many have commented how that has improved road tracking. I'll have to update my build thread. I've made lots of progress to get it ready to drive to the new house. Pictures: Now with 100% more speed holes! I'm a couple weeks behind, but I updated the driver side door moulding to match the passenger side. I washed the car (for I think the 2nd time since I've owned it) and found the driver's door moulding was about 1/2-way off. The two rear-most clips had broken and would no longer hold the moulding in place. (Maybe the victim of the bump strip doing its job? Got hit by someone in a parking lot and that popped the clips?)
As discussed when I went through this on the passenger side, the pre-'97 mouldings are no longer available, so I ordered an '01 moulding. Fits fine, just doesn't match up right where the door and front fender come together. |

Finally pulled the trigger on some Goodyear Sport A/S tires for my XT. Had new wheels sitting in my garage all year and just dragged my feet on it. Just need to get them mounted (now watch me sit on THAT for another 6 months....). :\
