If they're not (which I'm pretty sure they are) they'd be an upgrade, so go ahead!

Even if they're not the same thing, they'd work, is what I'm trying to tell you

Really? I would think the Outback would have bigger brakes. (bigger car).

they're the same. 00-04 Legacies (all of them) have bigger rear discs though. The new LGT, 06 WRX, and 00-04 Legacies have the same size rear discs. LGT and WRX are vented, WRX has two pots. Almost every other Subaru rear disc is the same since about 1990.

Except the '91-'94 Legacy turbos, which had a unique vented rear disc (i.e., no other model before or since has used the same disc).

Well, the RS got an upgrade over the regular Impreza too. The 2nd gen outback isn't nearly as heavy as yours

Not in the US, at least. I think some early WRXes used them too.

Edit: I'm not saying the early t-legs didn't have vented discs, I'm saying maybe other models have used it, just not in the US.

Rears on old Legacy turbos were in fact vented, but smaller than the current vented discs used in the LGT.
