Subaru VIZIV Tourer Concept
-------------- Hello, In Geneva Subaru will show its new Levorg (or Exiga (or Forester (?))) Concept car: Quote:
And brighten up: Maybe it is the new Exiga or Levorg? But the Exiga would not be presented in Europe, because it was not sold here. And the new Forester is already quiet existing... Frank

Oh, so is this finally some kind of hint at a hatch/wagon?

i guess we will see, if we see a wrx hatchback in camouflague being tested on american roads, there will be no more doubt. But from what the article is saying, it is not the levorg, it is the estate or hatch version of the wrx saloon already shown in los angeles.

I'm hoping it's more of a hatchback. As much as I love wagons, they don't scream fast and agile. Well, at least not agile.
Give us a reincarnation of the exaggerated flared body of the GR hatch. |

I don’t need my vehicle to “scream” anything. I do need it to be as functional as possible. Bring on the STI wagon!

WRX and STi are for performance. I want it to look the part, and not look like a bloated family hauler with red pinstripes. |

No contradiction at all my man, it's very possible to be functional, fast and tasteful. See Audi S3 and VW Golf R for details.

That window behind c pillar sure looks small for a wagon. This “tourer” looks more like a hatch to me. Still could be Subaru’s Levorg replacement though; otherwise it’d have essentially 3 WRX body styles in the lineup.

I'd prefer a wagon over a hatch, but will take a hatch over a sedan.
I'd throw roof racks and a tow bar on it. |

The Subaru Advanced Tourer concept was a concept that ultimately led to the development of the Levorg. Given the same terminology here, I'd anticipate that this is the next generation Levorg.
HOWEVER, the rear window looks significantly smaller than the advanced tourer concept, suggesting that perhaps this will ALSO be a WRX hatchback/wagon that might make it to the US. Purely speculation, but I'm guessing that Subaru might have split the difference between the Levorg and hatch, so that SOA might bite. Golf R becoming my next car just became a lot less likely. I'll have to keep my wrx around long enough to see if this thing becomes a reality on US streets in wrx/sti form (preferably sti). |

My statements are regarding the Levorg replacement rumors. Also, I don't see an Allroad cornering like a 15+ WRX any time soon. |

Which to the original point we were discussing, the Sport Wagon is functional, fast, and not over styled. There is no reason that something has to be styled like a Transformer to meet the criteria listed, nor does being functional preclude performance orientation. Again, no contradiction my man. You mean to tell me you can't see an Allroad under steering? I certainly can, I can assure you it will plow like a WRX, perhaps less depending on which options you select. |

Wonderful. I'm looking forward to another long, drawn-out period of hope and suspense followed by agonizing heartbreak and disappointment.
If we do get a Levorg/WRX wagon successor I'm sure it'll be CVT only and priced into the grave like most other promising "sporty" wagons. If the only people that will buy it are a handful of weird enthusiasts, just give it what they want it to have. |

I don't want it to be a wagon, that's my main point. My personal opinion. The Levorg was a replacement for the Legacy wagon in its markets. It looks big. I like my cars athletic and agile. Maybe that's a little hypocritical because I don't think my own 2016 meets that image. And no, my car doesn't plow. At least not anymore. A simple alignment and control arms fixed that for me. But I don't track it either. I just want whatever this is to be the next WRX hatch. Something more slick than the Levorg. |
