I am strongly considering this edition but for my WRX. I want a deep, loud exhaust when you step on it but worried about the cruising noise. How much louder is your Track Edition when cruising vs stock for your STI? Based on the other posts the Touring Edition is about the same as stock when cruising.
Remember I have the EJ, not VA. I haven't had any drone and was on the highway last night for about 30 minutes, as long as you are cruising over 2500 rpm, it is noticeable but nothing bad. I haven't had to increase my stereo too much. The difference I have noticed is it is easy to drown out the stock exhaust with music and this one you always can hear but not in your face when cruising.

Knowing how the WRX is and how that motor sounds a bit (my mom has an XT so have spent a good amount of time with it), I would probably lean more towards the track edition. Hopefully someone with a WRX can chime in though to see if they have the same experience as the STI.

Am I doing something wrong or does the imgur video not have sound? I tried changing the extension to .mp4 but it just redirects me to the .gifv.

I did about a 400 mile road trip with the track edition from AWE. For me personally, I had no issues with it at all. Especially when cruising between 2500 and 3000rpm, it was actually pretty quiet even though you still heard the rumble and the stereo won't drown this exhaust out like you can with the stock exhaust. I can see people who may not want the in your face noise not enjoy this exhaust though if when you cruise, it's over 3000rpm. It can get semi loud in this range but I never experienced drone or had a headache afterwards. If you are worried about the noise though, I would go with the Touring edition. My winter project will be to use some sound deadening in the trunk to see what happens with that.

I will say though, I get compliments almost every time I take it out now and people always want to ask about the setup on the car. Even staying at the hotel, someone came up to me to say "You did things right with that car and didn't just put the single sided exhaust that is annoying at times. Your setup looks incredible and sounds like an STI should sound."

One thing if you do get this exhaust, do not push the tips on all the way to the welds, or else the tips may not look proper. I had to play around with the location of the tips a decent amount to get them even on both sides.

I will post some more pictures of the exhaust and try to get some driving videos this weekend for everyone.

How is the muffler alignment? I’ve gone back and forth from single to quad muffler tipped exhausts several times. I like the look of the AWE exhausts but I am super OCD about the mufflers being evenly spaced and gapped around the exhaust openings.

I do have the GS exhaust hangers so I know I’ll have some extra adjustability. I’m just debating on switching to something a little quieter. I have the Greddy RS Race which I love, but I may be moving into a townhouse soon and may need something resonated.

The muffler alignment on the AWE is spot on. Really a high quality system in design. It’s nice that the tips are all individually adjustable to help combat that.

AWE uses clamps for everything, yes? Is this suitable - any leakage issues? It sounds exactly what I'm looking for, slightly louder than stock, only loud on throttle hard, etc. Is it worth the money being charged?

You’ll reuse the bolts that connect from the down pipe to catback, but other than that then yes all clamps. I was a little weary about that initially, but they ended up being very high quality clamps and everything fit together perfectly. No issues whatsoever for me. Given that most quality systems that are quad tip are at about the same price point, then I would say yes it’s worth the money. Puts a smile on my face every day! The look of the exhaust and the sound is hard to beat IMO. The 4” tips definitely fill out the bumper cutouts well.

^^^ I agree about the clamps. I was also a little leery about clamps too. But as you said the quality of the clamps is outstanding. And the pipes slip together snugly so there isn't a big gap you are trying to close with the clamps.

Slip fit connections are nice because you don't have to worry about reusing gaskets or not having a gasket.

Is anyone running the AWE track edition with a catted downpipe/j-pipe? Curious of how loud a cold start would be. I would imagine it won’t be as loud as my old Tomei Expreme TI on a color start up.

Here is a link to a coldstart on the STI. This is about the same as just casual driving but like previously stated, when you step on it, you know it's there. Also here are two pictures of how it looks after doing all the fine tuning on fitment. The initial fitment is extremely easy but getting the tips to line up does take a little bit of time, at least in my experience, to get it perfect. But that is the beauty of being able to adjust everything on this exhaust.

Also for what it's worth, I was quoted $600 for the touring axle-backs if you decide to later change to those.

Looking for input on Invidia Dual N1 sound vs. Racing single exit, both with catless downpipe. Differences?

I just put a Nameless 5in axleback on my WRX. Bought it from a fellow NASIOC member. The exhaust itself is really well made. Sound wise, I'm not so sure. Sounds good at idle and below 1500rpm, sounds good above 4500rpm. Everywhere in between it kinda drones and sounds ricey. Some of this may just be the nature of a 4cyl with ELH, some of it may be due to the lack of a resonator. I'm gonna leave it on for a little while to see if I get used to it. May be switching back to stock.

mxdude105 - I watched many youtube vids before making my decision on the CNT muffler deletes for my WRX. The reason why I chose this one is because it has the highest pitch / dry sound out of the others when pushed (nameless, remark/greddy, some other brands).

Might be worth a try to look into that if you want to try another one. I paid $299 shipped. No annoying deep drone.

I was looking at the Remark resonated mid-pipe with catted GrimmSpeed JPipe and stock mufflers. I figure for $1225, I'd have a 3" turbo back setup that looks stock, flows well, and and hopefully has a deep growl w/ no rasp.

Wish I could hear it first though.
I guess if it sounds like a can of bees, I'd just sell the Remark and swap in an STI midpipe.

Any thoughts or experiences on this setup?
Think the Remark midpipe will make it loud?

I recently installed muffler deletes on my 2015 WRX. The fit is perfect and everything seems tight. I also installed the flat gaskets that were provided. After a while I noticed that there is a little bit of carbon residue on the bottom the gaskets where you tighten the mid pipe and the mufflers/deletes with the 2 14 mm bolts. Is this something normal with these or do I have a leak?

This is fairly normal but it is a leak, same thing occurred when I first installed my nameless mufflers to the stock midpipe. The way the oem donut gasket fits with the stock muffler it leaves a slight gap when you install an aftermarket axleback with a normal flat gasket and don’t tighten it down enough. What I did that fixed the condensation and soot coming out was driving around for a bit then coming back and retightening the bolts and nuts down extremely tight while they are still fairly warm. Has been leak free ever since.
