My girlfriend has been on the pill for a while but tested positive yesterday. She took it everyday at the same time plus or minus 3 hours. I recommend taking it everyday at same time plus or minus 30 minutes, and maybe adding a condom.

We were pretty serious already and we're 33 so we're taking it in stride. The made-up names thread has been a real help.

how long has she been on the pill? How long have you been dating her? You know that it is not uncommon for SOME females to "forget" or possibly have the sink "take" the pill and then **** their mans brains out if say, she feels its time to get married.

Hope that is not the case with you.
My girlfriend despises the wretched little mutants known as "children" so i highly doubt she would pull that stunt on me, but i guess you never know. Maybe someone was asleep at the QA switch in the Pill Plant.

Have fun shopping for minivans.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. But it's a risk you take. No birth control is 100% effective. When you figure the number of times couples typically have sex, it only makes sense that eventually, you can get burned.

Doubling up on methods can help reduce the risk, but if you are willing to take the risk, you have to accept the consequences.

Good question. In our case she was definitely more worried about pregnancy than I was. She took three different tests yesterday because she was in a bit of denial, and she's really bad at deception.

The pill is 99% effective if taken correctly. That doesnt mean 1% chance per time you have sex. That is 1% chance for an entire year of normal sex.
