^The ratings for 6 speed clutches are far different than that for 5 speed clutches.

I know on venders site it says 315 but I read that a lot of people said their clutches are underrated.
I'm making that, had to switch from stage 2 Daily to stage 3 Daily. I feel like the stage 3 is a better clutch after owning both in any case.

Yes, I was referring to the 5 speed kit, FTR.

Looking to pull the trigger on a SB soon, really haven't been impressed with the ACT HD so far.

Debating between the 5 speed stage 3 DD or endurance; anyone have feedback between the two? Noob question, but I'm assuming the 6 speed won't work on a WRX

At 305 wtorque on 91, ~360 on 100oc/E85 (don't use all that often).

Did you say you are running a Southbend Stage 2 Daily at 575 whp? Are you sure?

I've used southbend for my focus svt and wrx. I drove to southbend and picked both clutches up and had them matted with the flywheel I was using. Great company and I only can say positive things about the stage 2 and up.

I wanted to add my .02. I've had this clutch for about a year and rolling around 400 wtq on the SB Stage 3 daily clutch and it's been awesome. Clutch is heavier, but I actually prefer that. The engagement is close to stock as well. I love it!

Yes I am sure, car is making north of 650 at the wheels and it doesn't slip... can't launch the car but other than that it won't slip. I need to get a much larger one so that I can launch it.

You are way out of this things range!

Checking in awhile later. I ended up smoking this clutch around 380 wtq.

This is after I roasted it pretty bad launching it, the slippage became worse and worse.

I have since switched to the endurance version with the cerametallic and all has been well.

However, I am putting 320 to the wheels and it is only rated at 315 at the crank. So... I am a bit over the recommended amount, but I only commute with it now and if I ever get back to rallycross and/or HPDE it will likely wear pretty quick.

I also got the OEM flywheel this time around. The LWFW was nice (awesome for the track), but I got tired of the CEL's, shudders, and heavy pedal (in traffic) from the Act HDSS clutch.
How has the clutch been holding up for you since you are over the torque rating?

Heard great reviews about SB stage 3 daily. Can anyone confirm this that had experience with this clutch with a 5 speed?

Thanks!

Are you guys mating this to South Bend's flywheel or OEM?

Looking to replace Clutchmasters FX300/LWFW from previous owner. I live in NYC, deal with stop 'n go traffic, want lighter clutch engagement, and reduce NVH.

Currently running SB stage 2 daily with OEM flywheel. Putting 327whp and 331wtrq. Holding real well. Love this clutch!

Put 30k on a stock STi clutch/flywheel at 20psi on a vf39 ~350wtq, no issues.

Swapped to a South Bend stage 2 daily, broke it in over 500mi and on my first WOT roll in 3rd gear, it started slipping. I put 4000mi on it overall, tried various ways to try and bed it in better, but no luck. I got into the winter months with colder air, making a bit more power, and it would slip on any WOT runs in 3rd through 5th.

I eventually had to dial the boost back a tad to keep it from slipping, but that's no fun.

I finally had it swapped out after 4k miles and it all still looks kinda brand new. The flywheel even still had machining marks on it/etc.

I think in my case, the pressure plate just wasn't up to the task.

I'm back on an ACT HDSS, which is what I was on before I went back to a stock clutch. I hate how heavy it is, but it certainly doesn't slip. Now it's time to swap my VF39 for a 1.5xtr and push higher =)

We love these clutches! You made a great choice. Respect for the 6spd swap as well!
