Hadnt checked. I can do that though. What are you getting at? gas in the oil from a cylinder not firing?

Yes, 06s are side feed. What are you referring to as the cap? The gray cap on top of the injector or the plug? All the injectors are firing as far as I can tell. I put a long screw driver up to each one and listened and could hear each one firing.

Bad tank of gas is a possibility. I filled up at BJs on 93 like I always do. No changes there. But as above, I filled up and drove the car hard for a few pulls on this very same tank of gas and it was fine for those pulls. Why would the quality of the gas suddenly change?

This is not a tuning issue. The car ran fine for the 345mile drive home from EFI and the next morning. However, if the car was tuned with a problem and then I fixed the problem, that could make it wack out..
if it smells like gas, then you are running extremely rich. what im getting at is that dw had a production run of injectors that had flimsy caps on the tip of the injector that hold the bottom oring on. if that fell off, then the injector will still fire, but with no oring to seal the rail, fuel is just dumped into that cylinder. im not saying that that is the issue, but it sounds all too familiar. dont drive it until you figure out the issue.

sounds like a injector is sticking open or flowing more cc then what it is tuned for.

I had very similar symptoms (as far as shaking and air fuel oddities anyway) and just found out the problem today was that my fuel pump took a crap on me. It's worth a look if you have had that pump for a while; mine lasted ~2 years.

This could very well be the issue. You should be able to hear or at least feel the injectors "click" when you turn the key and power is applied. Try having someone cycle the key off and on while you hold each injector and feel for the click. You don't have to remove the injectors as long as you can touch the side of each one of them. If it clicks it's working.

Gotcha. I wasnt aware of this issue. I smelled the oil, but I have cold, so that didnt help much. Im going to pull the injectors today to see if anything strange is going on.

After I put on the new map and started the car, it went extremely rich to 11ish on my wideband and hung around 12afr until the car started to warm up and settled back to 14.7.

Also when I give it just about any amount of throttle, say, 20% and up, my wideband immediately jumps to 10. Normally I wouldnt bring this up, but I havent driven the car long enough to know if this is normal or not. I remember Chris telling me it would run rich on WOT because that is how he tuned it, but it goes right to 10afr for any amount of boost.

I have brought this to his attention as well as see what he has to say. I did also get a response from Deatschwerks about returning the injectors to have them tested if needed.

Pretty sure it isnt the fuel pump.

I know they are working. I already tried this method above with a long screw driver. Everyone of them was clicking.

Just throwing this out there - have you checked/cleaned your MAF sensor? Could be that a drop of oil has fouled it up. Happened to me after over-oiling my air filter. The over rich symptom started to happen on the drive 20-30 minutes later, only after running the car hard. Washed it out in a zip-lock bag with brake cleaner, ran like a charm thereafter.

Ill buy some cleaner and check it out. It is on a brand new K&N filter.

I have a wicked cold and just got back from work tonight, so nothing is happening real soon.

Picked up 8 new spark plugs to try a new set. Also picked up 2 new coil packs to see if that helps anything.

If that doesnt work, i am going to pull the injectors and have them sent to DW to be tested again. I have been trading emails with DW and their customer service has been awesome!

^^^Ya they are really good. If they cant find a prob with them you might wanna send them to witchhunter to have them flow tested and clean.

OK, I have a plan. I emailed Chris at EFI to get some incite if he thinks we can fix this in a day or not. If we can, Ill just take the Suby out there. If not, Ill have to have Amanda follow me in the focus and leave the Suby there to have them sort it out.

I still have to try my spark plugs and coil packs, but if that doesnt work, I think I am dead in the water because I really dont think it has anything to do with the injectors.

No, it is not. I have a brand new front and rear o2 in the car.

This is a built block with forged pistons. There is a bit more clearance then the stock motor. I expected lower compression numbers on this engine

The very first thing I did was boost leak test it

It appears a lot of you are not reading the rest of the thread. The car is no longer lean and the engine is not shaking. That issue was fixed. It was an unplugged coil pack on #4.

The coil pack has since been plugged in and the car runs great at idle and around town. It just goes crazy with any amount of boost.

I thought that too, that is why I have 2 of them on the way. I am going to install them on Cyl 2 and 4 as #4 is where it was barely plugged in with the first problem.

If that doesnt fix it, I have an appointment at EFI on Oct 5th to sort it out.

I'm starting to think it may be my maf sensor, I did a log and when it starts to break up I'm pulling 292gs at 8psi 4500 rpm! I don't think that's even possible with a good sensor? If this don't work then I'm going back to efi.

Pull the injectors out you will see, on the side that goes into the head, little grey caps on the end of the injector! If they are gone you car will run like crap! I had a set of the 740cc do this... they sent me new caps and I am good now! this should fix your problem for sure and not have to get re tuned!

I was told by DW if the caps came off of the injectors, the car wouldnt run. I can still check it out though.

Did you car idle and drive around town OK? Mine only has issues under boost and that is it.

Got my new/used coil packs today. No change. Still goes mega rich under anything other than super light throttle and bucks/vibrates under any boost. I reset the computer and in closed loop while the car is warming up, the car is still running stupid rich. I just boost leak tested it again and it is solid. Holds pressure very nicely.

I dont have a damn clue what is up. Im going to pack up and leave it until Tues when I got back to EFI to see if they can sort it out. Honestly I am tired of messing with the damn car and perfectly happy to let someone else figure it out so I can drive the ****ing thing again.

The positive on this. Even when I am stressed out and hating life, just getting in the car and driving around makes me feel better. Just to hear the engine/cams and the rumble. I really miss my car
