My WRX and STI builds.
Hey guys,
I figured I would start a build thread. It's been awhile since i've used the forums. So here we go! I started a youtube channel to document my car builds. I'm a total noob at filming and editing, but I'm giving it a try. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks! @lrb.wrxsti https://youtube.com/channel/UCuGVZvS3HKOBbZa89ZpH3CA My current video!

2006 Wrx
I bought my 2006 WRX in April of 2020. Pretty much bone stock. Someone put the sti wing, and side skirts on it also some 04 tail lights. Besides that, stock. I did all the maintenance I could think of when I bought it. It's my daily driver, so I needed it running good. And it's treated me pretty good the past 10,000 miles.
Since then i've added quite a few parts, such as; Engine/Trans **3" Megan Racing Downpipe **3" COBB SS Exhaust **GrimmSpeed Exhaust Adapter **XPT Tuning Stage 2 Tune @18psi **LUK Stock Clutch Kit **STI Top Mount Intercooler **Air Oil Seperator **Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump **Tomei Turbo Inlet Tube **Torque Solutions TGV Deletes **STI Transmission Mount **STI Pitch Mount **Whiteline Shifter Bushings **New Radiator **OEM Timing Belt Kit **OEM Water Pump/Thermastat **Front and Rear Brake Pads/Rotors **Secondary AIR Removal **OEM Ignition Coils **NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs **OEM Fuel Filter **K&N Air Filter **Castrol Edge Synthetic Oil 5w30 **OEM Oil Filter **OEM 02 Sensors (front/rear) **Engine Splash Guard Suspension **KYB Excel-G Shocks/Struts **Eibach Pro-Kit Springs **New Shock/Strut Mounts **F/R Sway Bar Endlinks/Bushings Exterior **18x8.5" AVID AV20 Wheels **225/40/18 Tires **OEM WRX Floor Mats **Fog Light Covers **Painted Front Bumper **Front Bumper Lip **Rear Driver Door **Driver/Passenger Fender Liners **Rally Sport Mud Flaps Interior **Tactrix 2.0 **Kartboy Short Shifter **Killer B Shift Knob **Cabin Air Filter **ProSport EVO Water Temp Gauge **ProSport EVO Oil Pressure Gauge **ProSport Electronic Boost Gauge **AEM UEGO Wideband Gauge **AutoMeter Triple Pillar Pod **Alpine Media Deck **Hertz 5.25" Front speakers **Alpine 4" Rear speakers Here's a bunch of pictures of how things progressed with the car until now. Sweet cars and I like your shop area. Hello to a fellow Washingtonian although I haven't lived there for 6 years now.

Here's my newest video.
I ended up having an issue with my engine timing, so I had to order some adjustable idler pulleys to get the timing back in order. |

I got the IAG adjustable idler pulleys installed and my timing issue should be fixed now! Pretty happy about it. Check it out!

I needed to get the STI tuned, so I braved the cold weather and snow. Haha. Here's my newest video.

From the picture of your timing belt, your lower idler pulley is missing. I hope that got installed or maybe it was related to your timing problem.

That was just a picture I took while assembling the engine. I still don't know why the timing is off 10*. We were able to compensate in the tune by taking 10* off the entire map. Even the tune on the previous engine had to compensate in the tune. It's weird. |
