Those aren't "fighter jets." Those are antiquated toys. Same goes for whoever made the reference about the Angels and their craptastic Baby Hornets up there.

Haha, maybe not anymore. iPods instead.

Ok, this is one of my faves:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_xGw-6ij8g
French Mirages over Morocco in 2003.

I dig the song, and I think it's by Kool Shen, but I haven't been able to find it. Anyone know more about French hip hop?

Worth it only for the footage of said Mirages. The regular Top Gun actually had some merit. Watch it with the commentary, you'll see what I mean.

And here, here's a French Mirage 2000:

That would make sense since that guy is sporting an '80s haircut and a beretta.

They have dual-function "elevons". Some jets (like the Kfir C2 and Rafale) also have canards that help with elevator duty and also help with airflow over the delta.

r0bman, you need to stop stalking me.

I'm pretty sure you're a bit bitter over the fact that in just a few years, I'm going to be behind the controls of a multi million dollar aircraft - (or "wasting your tax dollars" as you'd probably put it).

And no, we don't learn every single fact about planes/aerodynamics. Hell, you can even major in English here.

How the hell am I stalking you? Your profile used to say USAFA. I have a good memory. Stalking not found.

No, I'm beyond terrified that someone as dimwitted as you have proved yourself to be numerous times on OT could be, someday in "just a few years," sitting in a multi-million dollar killing machine.

If you think you're going to be flying anything fun with your reasoning skills, though, you're sadly mistaken. Enjoy an illustrious carrer in C-21s or something similarly dull, though!

You should. Hell, I had to / have to do it in order to build and improve said multi-million-dollar killing machines and the toys within.

"Strike Fighter." Penetration / ground attack with the ability to defend itself quite well. Awesome aircraft.

You seem to reply to almost every single one of my posts (usually some technical question or asking for advice) with some witty remark about me being at USAFA which kind of gets old after the first few.

You seem to know so much about me just by what I type in OT.
If you're judging a person by their posts on an internet forum I feel bad for you buddy.

You're right. Because I ask "unintelligent questions" in OT, I have absolute zero reasoning skills and totally incapable of anything but making powerpoint presentations and making photocopies.
Gosh, I wish I can be so intelligent and sharp like all of the fighter pilots out there.

What do you exactly do?

It doesn't take an engineer to crank wrenches on an F-22 or whatever airframe.
Any kid with a high school diploma can go to tech school (where they spoonfeed information) and have on the job training (monkey see monkey do training) and become fully qualified to work on jet engines. woop
dee dooo.
(*disclaimer* I'm not bashing on enlisted folks and I'm not talking out of my ass because I've been there, done that. Been in E-4)
