Default Any Subaru Techs willing to take a look for me.

(2006 Tribeca). Long story short my mother had made an appointment to have the passenger airbag inflator done as well as the recall for the hood latch which i guess was supposed to be replaced with an updated latch and striker.

There was some complications during the repair I guess and the vehicle ended up being there for a few days. She was told the vehicle was ready and then went to pick it up just to find out once she arrived that it actually wasn't. Was given the run around about how sometimes complications can happen ect.

Anyway lets just say lack of confidence in this particular dealer is a definite even prior to this. I myself work at a dealer of another brand and decided to take a gander just out of curiosity and see if anything looked odd. I'm very familiar with the Takata recall and have done A LOT of them but I'm unfamiliar with Subaru's inflators.

If there is a Subie Tech on here willing to take a second look for me I would greatly appreciate it. I have no problem taking it in myself to another dealer and paying the labor time to confirm the repair at this point. I know us flat rate dudes could use the work lol. I tried to take a couple shots of the inflator itself. Just give me your opinion on if this looks like the replacement style inflators or still a Takata. I know for sure that the hood latch wasn't done but i'll include a picture.

I work at a Subaru dealer, the Pink inflator is the new style replacement inflator. So you are all good

Thank you very much. I had a feeling that cap was the tell like on the ones I've installed. I appreciate the peace of mind.

Hood latch looks like the original, the inflator is defiantly the new designed part.

I understand your aggravation with the dealer, one pissed me off to the point I decided to drive to the next closest to get my passenger one done....in Houston. Funny thing is I also do MANY takata inflators as well, so am super familiar with the process. The first dealer (in Lafayette Louisiana) told me the car would need to stay the entire day "because the entire dash has to come out". I knew it didn't have to come out, and is a super easy job. The advisor said he double checked and still claimed the entire dash nonsense lie. Total BS, and they wouldn't do the recall on a Saturday, even though we do it any of our business days.

You can take it to any subaru dealer luckily, hopefully the next won't be full of it.
