Default Moving to Oregon. Need some help

My people from Oregon. How goes.
Im in the process of looking at places in the Oregon area. No where specific.

Few places Ive looked into are Salem, and Lincoln, again no real reason.

My questions..

I dont want to be in a tiny town

Which areas should I stay away from cause its the poor area..
Which areas are nice but cheap and which areas are nice but not cheap? probably just looking to rent an Apartment

Should I stay away from Portland?

Im not really into the car scene meet up per se but I do like to know car people are driving around .

Also, Ive looked over the exhaust laws in OR and theyre def not as stingy as CA...
Do the cops really bother anyone for a moderately loud exhaust. Nothing thats obnoxious or straight piped?

Thank you

So, there's 4 'parts' of Oregon.

1) Portland
2) Southern Oregon
3) The Coast
4) Eastern Oregon

If you don't want to move to a pleb filled ghetto, avoid Southern Oregon.

If you don't need a job, and want to live in a beautiful place, try the coast. If you do need a job, avoid the coast.

If you are a right-wing nutjob, then Eastern Oregon is for you.

That basically leaves Portland. Some parts of Portland are nice, Beaverton, Hillsboro... Most of Portland is really run down and kinda nasty.

My advice: Move to a state that either isn't expecting a massive, life changing earthquake, or move to a state that has spent the money on it's infrastructure to survive that earthquake (Hint: The only state in the United States to avoid is Oregon).

There's also a tuning shop in Bend, but they are more geared towards Rally, or so it would seem. I've never used them, but I know they have built rally cars for sale on their website from time to time.

If you're referring to All Wheels Driven, they're no more. Everything online shows they're permanently closed and their website looks like some hackers got a hold of it. It's too bad because Barrett did great work with the time I had my car in his shop...
