yeah who knows how long Hunt's suspension will be. But I bet Johnson goes to more of a pitch sort of position where he gets a lot of screens and hopes to get some open space. Probably similar to a James White sort of situation.

Are we 100% sure Hunt isn't being punished by having to sign with Cleveland?

In other AFCN news: Adam Schefter is reporting that the Steelers are planning on slapping the transition tag on Bell.

Reid and Kaep have resolved their grievances with the NFL.

Kaep may have gotten as much as $80m in settlement

Is it weird that he took the money?

He's already well off, wouldn't he want the truth exposed?

Def. a double edged sword. Nice to have it over, sad to have it over like that.

Given it's confidential I worry not much will be said about it. Unfortunate as a lot of good could come from a more open agreement. Rich people problems I suppose.

Wait, are you suggesting that Kaep is full of **** and wasn't really committed to the goal of social change?

This changes everything!

Or maybe he takes the money and donates it to his cause.

How does accepting the settlement make him full of ****?

Because the NFL is essentially paying him off to avoid admitting guilt or being found guilty. Kap is in it for the money, not the social justice.

Also add the fact that he failed to show up to the meeting between the NFL and NFLPA that ultimately lead to the "NFL Social Awareness Project" after being invited by both parties.

The only cause this dude was willing to promote was the "Colin Kaepernick Project"

It was also mentioned in the previous NFL thread that several groups here in Charlotte have written off Eric Reid after getting *crickets from him and his people after reaching out to them.

They may have truly had their hearts set on the cause of social justice but their actions have put them both in the "full of ****" category

Bull****!

Yes he took the money. Hell, if you were offered $60-80 million dollars in a lump sum, you would weigh your options on whether you could ultimately win or not balanced with your desire to see justice served and have the truth come out...............and then you'd take the money.

The NFL was always likely to win this case as collusion is incredibly difficult to prove. But the next step in arbitration opened the league to having to release publically their inner workings so even if they would win, their dirty laundry would be aired for all to see....and to them, that was worth paying them off.

Oh please, I meant the political climate as a whole. I grew up and have many friends in 'true rural America' and live up against a city, and have many friends in there. I get a very good picture between the 2 sides of this coin, and you wouldn't believe the stuff Rural America says about Kaep just to get the 'I got 'im' in on social media. It's off the charts, and most of the people from 'Rural America' just circle jerks the comments. I don't even agree with some of Kaeps moves and mistakes, such as the above mentioned missing a meeting directly impacting the cause, etc. He's made some missteps for sure, but his original intent was never money. For God's sake, he lost a lot of chances to make money and lost a lot of fans based on his original decisions. He didn't have Nike lined up, or anyone else lined up to support him WHEN he made the moves. At best he was hoping, which is an obvious risk. It could have very well fallen flat on his face.

So chill, and think it through.

Read a few articles on this. It looks bad, but basically what was said above. Collusion would have been hard to prove. My guess is some bad laundry would have been aired form the NFL side, and the collusion case would not have been won in courts still. the NFL versus 2 players doesn't bode well, same as 1 person with a personal income trying to sue a gigantic corporation with unlimited money and resources to pull from. It rarely works out, and it is a main reason class action lawsuits exist.

It is important to see what Kaep does with the money now that he is getting it. If not even half goes to charities and other important items, but goes into mansions and cars, then I'll admit he is a worthless **** and can't back his own words up. I have no issue doing that. Until we see what he does or doesn't do with the money to make the final judgement.

Also this was a pretty amusing hot take from Kaep's lawyer:

Colin Kaepernick's lawyer predicts a team will sign QB soon, names Patriots as possible landing spot

Back to football that actually matters, besides Flacco and probably Foles, what are some other big names that will wear new threads in 2019?

I wouldn't be shocked to see Clay Mathews with someone else next year.

It's a contract year for him and he's going to take a pay cut if he wants to remain with the Packers(he's probably going to take one regardless.....).

So apparently the AAF already couldn't make payroll and had to sell off the majority of the company to the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes for $250m to stay afloat?

I only made it a few seconds in and had to stop and find the cliff notes online.

Not only is the NFL going to educate him on how tampering works but I think agent is going to have a talk with him about the whole "contact me directly" talk
