Hmm thanks a lot. But in terms of the macpherson design body that mounts to the knuckle, is it much different?

And you said .5 in shorter, do you know the length of the GR or GD strut?

if you compare the 05-07 GD to the 08+ GR, no different.

GR is shorter.

Perhaps you want a front sway bar, not a rear:

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gd-suspe...ngs-clint.html

^ I am going to run an RCE front sway. Whiteline also comes highly recommended. both are adjustable.

You'll want endlinks too, I recommend the simple design of the Kartboy.

Has anyone found an exception to the fender brace rule for 06-07 2.5i/RS? I've skimed and seen some NA guys stating they have aftermarket braces installed. If I can confirm or deny they'll work with my 2.5i without pulling a fender, that would be awesome.

ok guys... i need to know if the 2008+ wrx hatch sway bars will fit the 2011 2.5i premium. i have talked to several different shops and they give me one of those "oh let me check ill get back to you" its been 2 months and im sick of waiting.

perrin makes a kit but they are too expensive and i hate perrin. and another company makes a set (cant think of the name at the moment) but the diameter is too small (22mm) front and rear

please help me out with suggestions. i cant let my little bro drive a car with no rear sway bar for much longer haha.

Our 08+ WRX front bar WONT fit the 2.5 NA car. The rear fits but you need to get brackets from the dealer if your car doesnt have a rear sway on it. You also need links for the rear too.

Correction: front "fits" but can make contact with the exhaust manifold.

I think that's what Myles said. Re-read the third sentence of the first paragraph.

not lateral links but sway bar links. The fact that the shop said lateral links tells us that he was thinking about the OLDER GD chassis which requires a lateral link change to be able to use the STI rear sway bar.

You should not have to pull the fender to find out. Grab a flashlight and maybe a rag, go open a front door and look inside the fender between and just in front of the hinges. On my NA 02 the threaded holes are there but covered with some thick body colored stickers.

If I missed the post in here sorry. I have a 08 NA impreza hatch and am looking at helping the soft ride by updating the struts and springs. Will the struts and springs from a 2011 WRX work?

Maybe I'm missing what it is you're concerned about? Will they fit, yes. Will you have to pull a fender, maybe not with a sedan, you'll at least have to loosen the top fender screws if you have a wagon. I'm doing mine this weekend on an 07 2.5i wagon.

IIRC, the answer is mixed. They will fit, but the camber will not be desirable. The lower strut mount is longer on the 2011's to accommodate the extended track. If you use them, it will give lower camber (more towards positive which is not desired).

This is based on I read with respect to the GTWorx/Bilstein struts that were designed around the 08-10 strut design. Those yield extra negative camber when used on a 2011 which is generally a good thing for handling to reduce understeer.

this may have already been answered on a different thread, but will KYB AGX Adjustable Gas Shocks for an '02-'03 WRX fit on an '01 RS? my brother had originally got them but never got around to putting them on his car, so he gave them to me.

yes they will "fit" but the front will be loose between the perches at full droop.

Its also not needed as the 2011 rates are the same as the 2011 WRx and 2009/2010 WRX at 224/185.

I fount that a front sway bar I ordered for a 2002 legacy GT fit my new 2011 2.5i with no problem. Subaru must have reused some older molds rather than reworking everything.

Thanks a lot for this thread, it's incredibly useful!

I'm currently investigating running '04 STI struts with GC springs and top hats on my 2000 GC RS. I keep hearing that it'll bolt up, but here I see I'd run into geometry issues. What sort of issues would I be running into, and what sort of workarounds are there?
