Going to Philly next week - where to get a real Cheesesteak!?
So, I'm going to Philly on business next week. Actually, I'm going to Valley Forge/King of Prussia, but whatever. I'm not going to have much time to do anything fun or interesting, but I'm determined to get a real Philly Cheesesteak. So somebody hook me up with a good place to go. I heard there's some street corner with the 2 most popular places in town to get one, and to go there and just get in line at whichever place is shorter.
Oh, and thanks to John Kerry I know that cheeze whiz is the cheeze of choice. I won't ask for some swiss cheeze or anything!

you are talking about pats and genos...they are over rated...in the valley forge/KoP area...just hit up a pizza shop or hoagie shop...you will find a great cheesesteak there

my tip to out-of-towners is Jim's on South Street. you order from nice people, you take it upstairs, and eat while peoplewatching. you can even get a beer if you want. once you're more comfortable with Philly, i HIGHLY recommend Tony Luke's. unbelievable. but also tucked away under the overpass for 95 and thusly harder to find than Courtney Love's integrity, unless you know where to look. |

Courtney Love has integrity? I don't think so. Sounds like a mythical adventure to me. |

the only good thing about Genos and pats is that they are open 24/7 but they taste like stakeums.
The following are all very good White house sub shop Arctic and Missouri sts, Atlantic City, NJ Leo’s 1403 Chester Pike, Folcroft, PA Tony Luke’s 39 East Oregon Ave., Philadelphia Also check out reading terminal market for you excessive food needs 12th & Arch Streets, Philadelphia |

If you ask me Philly Cheesesteaks in general are overrated. Dont taste any different anywhere else you go. Especially with that crappy cheeze wiz stuff they put on them. If you ask me I would go for a good Chicago style Italian Beef extra wet with some Jardenero peppers and mozz. cheese anytime over a Philly Cheesesteak.

oh man this argument is worse than xbox-ps2. in philly, anyway. geno's still makes a good steak, pat's is way overrated, jim's chops their steak, which i hate. my favorite is Philip's on passyunk near 76. take 76 east to the passyunk exit. bang a left. Philip's is less than a mile up on your right.
not a fan of the whiz, and i take a lot of **** for that. i am a provolone guy, but i am slowly converting to american. |

I can't believe no one said "Jim's" on 4th & South. Way better than Pat's or Geno's.
