Default 04 WRX Seats install in an 07' 2.5i (help?)

Hi all,

I'm picking up a set of 04 WRX Front and rear seats tomorrow as it's a deal too good to pass up. My question is: How does the electrical work with hooking up the 04' seats into an 07 2.5i? I've heard that the 07's have a weight/pressure sensor which the 04's did not have.

I've done a lot of searching in the forums and haven't managed to find a specific answer to my question. If I can't just swap the seats in due to the electrical hookup being different, could I instead simply just swap the Bladder/cover for the base, and unhook the back and bolt them onto my existing seat base?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I can confirm that 07 Subarus have weight sensors in the seats, at least the base Outbacks do.

They also seem to have seat positions sensors; my mom totaled her 07 Outback 2.5i by hitting a tree, but the driver's air bag didn't deploy, which is good because she sits 6" from the steering wheel.

I have to assume the impact would have normally been enough to trigger the air bags, since she broke both front wheels (and I don't mean cracked, I mean broke into pieces).

I put 04s in my 06. Had to remove the weight sensor for passenger seat (small plastic cushion) and wiring from the 06 TR seat.

Search around there is a tutorial how its done.

I understand that they have weight sensors, but my question really will be whether or not that will cause any issue with switching in 04 seats. If so, what can be done to offset any error lights.

well, you will want to switch over that weight sensor, as your pass air bag wont work with out it. the other connectors, i think are the same.

I have a 06 wrx seat (drivers only) and Wanting to transfer it to my 08 impreza 2.5i but the air bag clip is different and I was wondering If there is any way to transfer the air bag to the wrx seat. and maybe even modify the back braket aswell or even swap it From the oem seat. is there any solution here? can I leave the air bag unplugged or will it mess up my whole system? Can I try to crimp or solder the wires? But that seems wrong lol just trying to see if there is any solution to this fitment issue. Iím new to the forum sorry if Iím doing stuff wrong
