My heart stopped for a second, I was thinking of the other one.

Still sad news. Australia has been hit hard this past week. RIP

Yes, NOT the American "Pete Brock", though he was driving a car (Superformance Brock Daytona Coupe) designed by Pete Brock (the American) and they were good friends.

Rally Stuff Peter Brock killed in Rally Crash !

Australian motor racing is mourning the loss of one of its greats after Peter Brock was killed instantly in a car rally today.

Peter Brock was competing in the second stage of the Targa West Rally championship at Gidgegannup, about 40 kilometres east of Perth, when he lost control on a bend and his vehicle slammed into trees.

His navigator Mick Hone was injured in the crash and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Wait, wait, wait...the same Peter Brock that designed the Shelby Daytona Coupe? Holy crap! That's awful.

Okay, I'm an idiot. Not the same Peter Brock. Never even heard of this one. Just got thrown off by the fact that he was driving a car designed by the other Peter Brock.

Still tragic nonetheless.

Glenn, sorry for your loss. About the same story for me with "our" Peter Brock. I've known Peter for a long time now and run into him at Sports Car races and the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. He took shelter in my car at this year's Hill Climb when the weather went south. His son Rally Crosses a WRX if I understood correctly. His Superformance Daytona Coupe is even more awesome in person then photos and stats would make yopu think. Spooky that that was the car the Australian Brock was killed in. In knew of him but never met him.

Wow. This really sucks.

He was legendary in Australian touring car racing, and actually the Peter Brock I thought of first.
