Ya it's going take some creativity to mend it strong enough without adding a bunch of material. I think I may do a combination of plastic weld and then mesh patches covered in light resin to hold it together from behind then work on blending the front lightly. Finding a replacement in perfect condition for a reasonable price again is just not gonna happen

Picked up my JDM STi hood scoop and grill from the paint shop, couldnít wait to return home from work to install the parts. Itís a good thing daylight is getting longer, just made it before sundown. Iím all stoaked.

And finally installed the rear strut bar.

Got my wheels back from refurbish. Look brand new again. Now for a summer of paranoid driving. Detroit potholes really bent one of these up but lucky enough to be repairable.. Advans take a licking and keep on licking

I hear ya man.
I was debating about getting the curb rash on my LMs taken care of and polishing the lip before the new rubber went on, but didn't end up going through with it. Figured I'd get some miles them first. Already paranoid about running a new setup, didn't want to be even more so.

But roads in Japan are in beautiful condition from what I remember. In the states our roads are crumbling all around us.

Yeah they are vastly better than the States, but I get paranoid about the deep gutters in my area. Also some of the roads do have potholes, but nowhere near as bad as back home.
2 summers ago I got my freshly refurbished V7 wheels damaged by a pothole in the rain while on a road trip. It was in a deep puddle and completely invisible. Only curb rash luckily enough.
Been nearly forced into tall curbs by terrible drivers as well. Road rage is on the rise here. A present danger all around the world.

First night out of the storage so I took her to the scratch wash and then downtown to attempt to take some decent photos of it. I'm terrible at photography but there's almost Infinite cool backgrounds in Detroit.

The tunnel spot makes every photo have synthwave music in the background

Next time let me know I need to dust off my Nikon and also send it in for service.

I killed the LCD screen shooting at Gridlife in the rain last year

weird place to express that sentiment considering most of the examples posted here (especially lately) match that.

yeah totally fair. most cars people build forever and always are soulless trash, even most of the ones with good parts.

I just thought it was odd to have picked one car out of all the ones posted recently to make that comment about, it was weirdly specific is all.

I build my car specifically to make myself smile, and hang out and with in the garage and hopefully get around to tracking on occasion. The only likes I care about are from my son as I have been steering him towards the car enthusiast lifestyle since birth. I do however really appreciate the compliments I get from higher end car guys and the classic car guys or people that otherwise would never be impressed with an old Subaru. I live in a pretty wealthy area and I'm constantly getting thumbs up from people I'd never expect to be intrigued by a Japanese four banger econobox.

Anyway. Got some stuff I ordered a few days ago from Japanparts. I couldn't believe it only took 10 days this time. DHL must have their house in order unlike fed ex and ups. I love me some trinkets.

Exactly the same thoughts. The path forward for my car is not the most flashy or powerful. But fun for me. I do miss my 05 GD chassis though. There were so many older rare parts than there are for my GR hatch. Trying to get my STi to 300k though is exciting for me

I have a really nice titanium heat shield for your car if interested? I bought it use for a fair price considering what they cost new and willing to sell it for the same. Unfortunately it doesn't fit GD models and it hits my brake and clutch res
