Not a rumor, It was at PRI.

Limited sizing as usual to begin with. They had no information on it that I saw. The tire at the show was a Miata size.

I can't remember the 'release' dates.

I probably spent half of my time there talking to tire manufacturers, and the other half chasing down sponsors for the new year.

Release date would be important. I'd almost be willing to guinea some if the contingency was right.

So are these going to be a sticky slick like the R1/R6/V710/Z214, or will they be a more "track day" compound like the R888/NT-01?

I'm thinking it's going to be along the same lines as teh GS-CS they had before.

More roadracing R compound closer to the Hoosier/Kumho stuff on the market.

The GS-CS was arguably the fastest DOT-R tire out there for racing when it was out.

I wonder what the new tire is going to bring. On one hand, I'm happy to see the competition, but on the other, the Goodyear went further away from the DOT-R concept with their old tire, as it was good only for single digit heat cycles and was a good bit more expensive then the other options.

J Kiesel has been talking up Goodyear contacts to come back to contingency since last summer. But he has been using the full slicks and nothing DOT rated.
