i just heard a clip of the greddy evo2 on an 06 wrx and wow that was quiet....wonder what it would be like with an aftermarket dp.....i am looking to get rid of my HKS one....maybe get a bellmouth dp to run...i am cobb stage 2...not that that means much but i was told the HKS is basically just a catted pipe and doesn't to much better than stock....

Here's a link for a video clip of the 3" catback on an otherwise stock car posted by MadDad. It also shows that the exhaust puts out 98db at WOT and 87db at idle.

Prodrive here and I think its perfect....quiet at idle and cruise, but sounds like the engine is trying to tear itself out of the bay at WOT

^^ I have a PDE catted DP, but I also have headers and two exhaust systems depending on what I am doing. Prodrive for DD and Megan for all out power.
I have some youtube videos of my Megan setup under my same UN, some inside the cabin and some from outside, but none at idle. The Prodrive is pretty quiet at idle, the Megan is pretty loud at idle.

I take it that it's the cbe only and has the stock dp. A catless dp would make it a bit louder.

How does the Greddy SP2 compare to the Evo2? I'm looking to get rid of my Inividia G200 for something much quieter, though the Evo2 is by no means quiet with a catless dp despite most saying otherwise.

Actually that was with a MadDad V2 downpipe...single hi-flow metal substrate cat. The car also has a V1 MadDad Velocity uppipe/header(48mm uppipe), which to me made it a tinge louder..not mutch but a little.

We have a customer in California that got pulled over for his exhaust(Whisper single tip). He was running a 3" catless downpipe(don't recall the brand). He disputed it and won, registering a 94.5 db. I don't know what the nature of the CA. test procedure is. I just have the email letting me know what happened and what the results were. Db level could vary with downpipe and other mods though so it's right on the line...in particular when catless, but still great numbers.

....I'm definitely in the Prodrive camp. I bought an oval tip and fell in love with the deep, rich sound. A definite improvement over stock without that "tin can" sound that seems to be popular with the kiddies.
